  • As a frustrated Samsung Odyssey+ user this is incredible news. I’ve only dusted it off on occasion to try and compile everything in EnVision again, fiddle a bunch, get nauseated, and hope it improves. (I was never able to get games to launch in the headset…)

    Although, being on OpenSUSE Tumbleweed…

I had no success with Wayland, therefore I do not recommend using Oasis with Wayland.

Nooooo!! 😭 Maybe it can run in x11 mode with that…X11 / Wayland bridge system…

I was jazzed for steam frame too but I’m a working class prole in 2026 A.D and it apparently doesn’t even come with its own headphones? I can’t responsibly justify this even if I got picked in the raffle. Lol

If this works though, I’d finally get to erase my ancient Win10 partition for good and switch all my NTFS to BTRFS. GLORIOUS!!!

  • Oooof I feel you so much on this. Getting rug-pulled by Substance Painter/Designer “jOiNiNg TeH aDoBe FaMiLy” right after I dropped like $200 bucks on it was enough to make me drop learning it and figure out every other way to do it instead.

Blender has caught up quite well, for the stuff I do.

I never want to invest time and money into some black box software just waiting to betray me like ever again.

  • If you’re a C++ developer, particularly with graphics experience, Inkscape could use your help in pushing 1.5 forward. https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/work_items Adobe has unlimited resources. Inkscape relies on us

I definitely don’t fit that criteria, but, we could always stand to pitch a few bucks towards our favorite open source projects to help them thrive! Even in these trying times, we could all skip 1 or 2 takeout coffees for this! :)

Edit: This header picture tho… adventurer has like 6 swords sticking up through him? This isn’t slop, right? :( I’m looking really closely but I can’t tell anymore.

  • Yiiiiiikes. This is why I’m gonna be stuck on tailscale or another VPN only access for quite a while. I know it’s not perfect, but exposing ports on today’s Internet is scary.

I know I don’t have the mental overhead to secure literally everything, and have a solid contingency for when some botnet armed with a zero-day inevitably breaks it.

Really glad this person wrote this write up about how that happens and what it looks like though. It’s REALLY interesting and I learned a lot!

  • That is super rad. I wonder how hard it would be to replicate today.

We could have a “RAMcore” subgenre. I wonder how running different processes affects the sound?

Imagine if the German underground scene discovered RAM noises. . .damn, RAMmstein is already taken. XD

All seriousness though…I now wanna know what my RAM sounds like. Lol
