I don’t want my stuff streamed to even a small company. I’m talking OSS and local processing. I’m mostly into it for AR with smartphone integration, I wouldn’t mind having no mics and no option to permanently store any images of that thing
Why would I? For AR you need mostly spatial data and you can drop the rest. Actual image data is more interesting for stuff like live translation - but it is well within my own interest to not have this stuff send anywhere.

I don’t think they will do anything about it except cancelling the service thought. I don’t know what you would sue for, except for penalties agreed upon in the contract, which I don’t remember seeing.
We just bought everyone individual Claude Max subscribtions (Anthropic has done nothing about it so far lol). The most expensive tier is 200$/M I think - that’s already much more than most people could possibly spend in tokens.
I am more than happy with the 100$ tier. For a business, that’s a rounding error. Given the productivity boost, I’d say it’s a no-brainer (although you should train your people on it as well).
Especially considering that is makes zero sense to pay extra, since you can literally go out and buy any other computer instead.

I would be much less reluctant to do this for work, since I, well, pretty much only do work stuff on my work laptop with it. But how is this verification supposed to work? I am very not okay with some random company doing this. Especially if they retain the data.

I think it seems much more professional if you get concrete right away. More concrete than ‘I have a project’ anyway. Tell them roughly what the project is about, what role you think they can fill and why you think so.
If you write a generic mail like the one OP posted, it just seems like random spam

You can probably make a sustainable business out of AI agents! Having something like Claude Code is pretty neat. I love having it at my side. Would I pay the business rates for it? Hell nah. They need to bring down their cost, gain efficiency. Maybe increase reliability while they are at it.
There is no infinite growth as long as AI doesn’t learn to act reliably, and on its own. According to experts this is anywhere from 10 to 100 years away. As someome with a CS major, I tend to agree.
The main problem is control ig. On Signal, someone can ask for a code or passwords to log into your account or get your data. If you have your own solution, you can have physical security keys to verify yourself, making it impossible to give anything to anyone via the internet. You can also monitor logins and make logins on new, unauthorized devices impossible.
Encrypting stuff is not really the hard part of keeping oblivious users safe. As far as that goes, they will be fine if they have people who know what they are doing use established, well audited implementations.
Unless you’re part of any minority, do anything that doesn’t require a lot of skill, or anything deemed important enough to put it above your health and sanity (tbf 2 and 3 also apply in the west)

The comment is satire. You get reports about amazing batteries about every month, yet most pretty much all of them never went into production. It has been like that for years, since I was a teenager at the very least. And what has happened since then was pretty much refinements to Li-Ion and the commercialization LiFePO.
