I work for a school that specialises in career changes into IT. I’ve seen plenty of 50+ people successfully landing a job after our bootcamp.

Something something a broken clock
Serious question, what’s the problem with hibernate?
Well, I guess all that we can do now is hold out for that violent communist revolution we’ve been promised since 1950
It’s called socialism and it can go well besides capitalism
How can a communist country have “property owners”?
This is a whole lot of bullshit. The first arguments are the only real arguments for large enterprises. Maturity, stability and broad adaptation. And maybe the fact that Oracle can be bribed to keep releasing security patches for long obsolete jdks
I killed one last night in my bedroom. I’m doing my part
One down… how many to go?
I’d rather see us replacing train conductors. Why do we even need them? Why aren’t trains self driving? Trains regularly don’t drive due to personell shortages and they don’t drive in the middle of the night. Also trains are getting ridiculously expensive (in the Netherlands, due to privatisation) where self driving trains could be a solution to make trains affordable again.
I’m a big fan of jetbrains, I think they make awesome product and they’re great with the community. That being said, CLion sucks. If I code in C (which isn’t often), I just use VsCode. It’s much better. IntelliJ, Webstorm and PyCharm are great products though.
That just makes job hunting suck even more. Now you need to also check whether LinkedIn gets you hired or passed on.
Not a particularly interesting article. Just more of the familiar story: “we need more forests, they are good for us” and “a single species going extinct can eventually collapse an entire eco system”. It is a truthful article though and I guess that’s worth something these days.
If IANA has all two letter domains reserved for countries, than why is there no .uk?
That is concerning, but Internet Explorer used to be the only option too. Of course things are different now, but I have faith (for lack of anything else).
NewPipe exclusively. YouTube has been unusable long before I fully moved back to FireFox.
I tried YouTube in Chrome on desktop (for about 2 minutes) and I didn’t notice any difference. I’ll just keep using NewPipe on my phone though.
I know. My experience with Chrome used to be good too. And we all know what’s up now.
If Firefox fucks up, I’m fine with abandoning ship and moving on to the next thing. I’m not sure what that would be, but I’m sure I’ll figure that out once we get there.
