You’re only going to get that from people who have dedicated their lives to learning political theory and I can speak from experience that you’re not going to find it on your current home instance.

Posting anti Russian/China/DPRK is how I learned that I’ve been unwittingly propagating propaganda as an American.
It’s those people to double down on their brain washing despite being presented w proof that they’re wrong are the ones who get banned.

1·20 hours agoFunny enough I went to Fedora because it did all the pre-configuration to setup disk encryption unlike all of the Debian based distros I tried; not even Ubuntu had it.
You’re going find that most of the instances on lemmy will likewise ban you for the same thing; but not all of them (especially not the one I’m commenting on) and it’s easy to regain access even if you are banned.
Check to see which instances the mods of a community come from to determine if pointing out a psyop will get you banned before posting/commenting
… to satisfy the average dumbass using it
we all have to start somewhere
op was asking about linux specifically and neither sysvinit, upstart, openrc, or runit did more than booting
you must have missed this part:
it was criticized for overreach (as in it did more than its predecessor did).
systemd is only used to initiate booting of a system afaik and, in the past, it was criticized for overreach (as in it did more than its predecessor did).
now-a-days, it seems to be criticized for pre-complying with big brother like laws like age verification.
Also we’ve had attempts to microslopify Linux before, by the hands of Canonical and Red Hat.
the most recent example was done by the american gov’t instead of corporations when the kernel maintainers group kicked out russian developers.
bsd was originally a calfornia thing and california had made the first step to this reality; i bet big changes are coming their way.
i 100% agree with you and i’m sharing this to warn you that there are plenty in this are that will balk at the message that you’re trying to share.
don’t let them deter you; most of them are visitors from captured origins and will refuse to accept it as a result.
you’re probably best served by thrifting a recent wireless router that’s supported by freshtomato, openwrt or pfsense and doing your network stuff on that.
that’s a FANTASTIC idea! i’m gonna go do that.
thank you.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Are you using systemd or an alternative, what do you recommend?English
23·7 days agoa government id requirement is the next logical step after its needful framework has been built as a result of the age verification laws that have already taken affect in the uk and california.
and because it’s a government law, it’s out of the systemd developer’s hands. linux is influenced heavily (if not outright controlled) by corporations like red hat who have to abide by the law if they want to continue operating and, in a likewise fashion, the systemd maintainers must also comport themselves if they want systemd to remain the dejour method that linux uses to initiate itself in those ecospheres.

28·7 days agodo you think you’ll continue to use sysemd once it start embracing gov’t id requirements to use it?
i ask because i hold a similar position, but it’s adoption of the first step towards this end goal has me wondering if i should start looking for an alternative.
at this stage, a bigger case seems to be the right move for the future; what are the details of yours and how much?
that one brick and morter repair shop was selling an hp like this, but they refused to let me see it to confirm that it’s working.
also, the biggest take away for me here is that the case is the biggest restriction, so i’m now more amenable to larger cases.

1·8 days agowhy not wait for the $10k chinese EV’s to become available to you?
same w mine on the 3rd day i received it; i updated using cli and it no longer booted.
i used to use debian heavily in the past, but switched to ubuntu because of kkkernel liveeeeeee patching.
now that i have to switch back because of age verification; i find myself wishing that debian has live patching so i can go back to it.

The proof comes in the form of the State Department or the Library of Congress of the United States admitting to doing the things that they’re accused of doing and it’s done in a similar way that people are learning from the Epstein files.
If you still don’t think that this isn’t proof, then there’s nothing anyone can do for you.
