There are soooo many good ways to securely monitor stuff from home. But especially in critical infrastructure it’s just usually air gapped which is unbeatable in cyber security.

For the price, the deck is smaller, quieter, and reasonably spec’d. Plus instead of doing drivers and stuff myself, it’s done for me. And we have a warranty. Great deal for our teeeeeny desks

This is a delightful little indie game where you have to talk to stock photos of dogs and complete little unhinged quests. It’s been on gdq in the awful block with the dev before, but only 221 reviews as of now

Not that that’s explicitly the answer but given how fucking fear mongery he’s been for a long time, I’m shocked that there hasn’t been more and worse to him. If someone constantly tells you that they’re going to ruin the planet and your livelihood explicitly, they’re pretty at odds with you.

I do have to appreciate their distinct lack of enshittification in some of this. Like they don’t have a “AI or bust” mentality, their non-old games are just regular games mostly, not gatcha/pay to win BS. And a lot of them ship fairly complete. It’s a fucking low bar these days but they’re not like nonstop below the bar which is something.

Ooooo and to save on fuel we could chain some cars together, maybe even put them on a steel rail for less friction. Maybe the cars that go really far could even have beds and sections where you can get drinks/food and go to the bathroom.

It’s sad, I noticed this too. I excitedly clicked a Hank Green video about energy and water usage on datacenters and was SUPER disappointed in it. I’ve worked in energy generation as an engineer for a while, and some of the takes in that video were so obviously big tech’s doomerism rhetoric
