haven’t tried arch but afaik it’s a distro that lets the user control everything, like gentoo or slackware. that’s actually an easier system to manage if you know what you’re doing and have something you want in mind.

I personally never used WTG. If you’re planning to use this across multiple machines/hw configs, I don’t think the normal windows can handle it as you’d have to install the correct drivers every time. I recall there being some hardware profile thing at bootup but not so sure. (that was XP)
you can mostly get rid of google and oem bloats nowadays, even without root
I think it was possible to load different GTK theme per program thru env vars, maybe that could be easier

devuan. i don’t have much experience outside that and slackware, and devuan is mostly better for non techies.
I like my Panasonic CF-RZ6 a lot, it has i5-7y57 with 8GB ram and mSATA 512GB SSD. 10" size and 1920x1200 display about ~700g, also has many USB3, RJ45, 3.5mm jack, HDMI and DSUB(!). Sadly the battery life is mediocre, parts are impossible to find. And it’s generally hard as hell to find outside japan. I’m not in Japan but was very lucky to find one for about 150$USD in second hand market.
