Thats the same logic when minorities are unfairly bothered by cops. A lot of people dont have the resources to fight the system especially for minor fines. But it is unfair for them to lose time and money fighting something that they shouldnt have been charged. Its the opposite of how an effective justice system works.

Yet, hybrid vehicles and EVs continue to gain market share. Sure theres a lot of idiots who just want a big truck to stroke their own ego but even those are starting to become hybrid or electric. There’s been a downturn on full EVs after the tax credit expiration but hybrids are still growing strong and the only real benefit to a hybrid vs generic ICE is fuel economy.

EVs need incentives and rebates because they are an extra consideration for other reasons, primarily range and charging availability remaining a concern. Also media scares of EV car fires and battery life, etc.

Generally hasn’t been IT making these decisions. Same as cloud fundamentally just meaning offsite storage someone else owns. The PR push about how it somehow is not that was/is massive.

Movies like the Big Short, Margin Call, shows like Billions, or whatever the inheritance show was, make people think they can be the ones smarter.

However, most individual investors aren’t usually of the arrogance that they’ll do better than the billionaires and hedge funds just of the arrogance they can still get more scraps than others and won’t get eaten themselves.

Jobs was the precursor to Musk. Marketers who act like they’re the designers but other people do the work. Jobs did at least have some design ethos though.

I mean Microsoft invested in OpenAI back when they were still claiming to stay non-profit. There are ways such as just treating them as an exclusive subcontractor in order to keep your main business. Microsoft is not a chip company afterall but needs them to have product at prices people will pay.

You don’t have shareholders until you ipo. Startups have not ipoed.

If you’re the one funding the startup you can just reject that

They never lost their jobs. They were banned from the conference which is something hard to put a damage number on. They probably won’t sue the org because they remain part of it and are unlikely to want to take any real money from it that can otherwise continue going to helping diabetes research and advocacy. Maybe they can get a future conference paid for. They’re all relatively established in their careers.
