Had a freezer fixed on warranty recently. What needed replacing? An electric heater. Yes the freezer has a heater in it!
(It’s for the anti frost feature.)

Just realised that means my steam account is about to have it’s birthday. I wonder what the new badge will look like.

Sounds like the whole thing was just a way for them to extract training costs from roofers.

If I didn’t exist I would also fail at the job I had been given.

I checked and this does a similar thing. You can use WG to punch out a connection, and I have before. The linked program uses quic in a similar way to WG but doesn’t do any of the routing, just registers the connection to a hostname for application level forwarding.
It looks more that it provides an easy setup for an alternative.
Both methods can work on cg-nat as well since you are punching out.

Wow, I guess that makes sense. But if they were going to move to a significant count of Linux machines I would assume that an enterprise edition (like red hat) would probably be covered by insurance. Since they then have someone to blame.

We have had success with this on port 443 and it appears to do a good job on networks that only allow browsing. Usual problems with TCP based VPN still apply.

I saw this on a few sysadmin posts, from what I saw and what people described I have a theory that it was an unexpected interaction.
Those with the deletion had a expiration date for the donation licenses past the July '26 deadline. That shouldn’t have happened as far as I can tell from the notification email. We had some of these, but I think the difference was the presence of other licenses.
Those with only the 10 donations and none of the other free licenses, would have become unlicensed when they were removed. There is a cool off for deletions, but if the licence had the wrong expiration, then the deadline date might have been set from the original expiration. Due to the incorrect extension that date might then have been in the past. Leading to the wrong deletions.
I have no way to confirm any of that and ms are not going to admit it. I don’t think it was malicious, but is still a appalling show from Microsoft.

I bought it on steam and it was worth the money for the game. If I was willing to pay what I did for it then I don’t have any issues with the costs elsewhere. There is also the convenience of it auto updating.

It was a decent 4th installment. Still have it on steam, but not tried it on modern machines.

It converts it from being something someone said, into something you can point at and say “we have evidence of it happening.”

Or you know, load the search first time. So often lately you do a search and it just sits there with a blank menu.

It was great when I first got it, but I ended but getting fatigued with it. New releases wanted time investment, but the rising costs meant I felt I should play more stuff. In the end everything I wanted to play required time and I felt that I was no longer getting value out of it. It would have cost less to not have it and just buy the game for some titles.

Am I alone in not wanting to put my username into that field? If they don’t have it will they then just decide that it’s now a good time to scrape it? Or are they going to record that it was searched?

Presses F.

Pretty sure windows has supported installing drivers that include program installs since windows 7. Razor mice also do the same thing where it auto installs the control software.

I spent less than a quid for a game that only took 15 minutes. I never considered that I needed to refund it. If it was fun, it was worth the money.

There is really only a couple of games I decided would have been better as a buy. If you like to play a game for 2-3 weeks then move on it was good. You could also try stuff that didn’t have demos etc and decide if it was worth your time. After a year I’d seen most of the catalogue I was interested in and it was really only new releases that I kept it for, soon after I stopped it and now play my backlog.
Although you needed the disk space and bandwidth to be able use it like that.
I wouldn’t sign up again, but I got what I wanted.

Free ones are less common now (no-ip went paid.) Afraiddns is still free but requires regular account logins.
That’s a given, but I think they are suggesting they added one for the us government.
