Sony is running a large-scale A/B price test in the PlayStation Store: over 190 games in 70+ regions, including the US. First-party hits — Spider-Man 2, Helldivers 2, God of War — with discounts of up to 27.8%.
It’s almost as though Valve provides a valuable service and respects their customers. Rare traits in the corporate world. Answering to a board of directors is a hell of a lot easier than answering to shareholders.
They do but that’s regional pricing, meaning that basically if the median income of a country is lower, game prices are lower as well. According to the article, that you apparently did not read, Sony is showing different prices (up to 18% lower in some cases) to different users. I take that to mean that the geographical position of the users could be the same.
I wonder why steam is so successful

Enshitification hasn’t struck there…yet.
Integrity.
Valve does the least amount of scammy/scumbag bullshit, and they’re rewarded accordingly.
Companies like EA only want customers that have no self-respect, so that’s what they get.
Doesn’t valve also do this for different regions?
