That’s an option, but there were a lot of people involved in making the game. I’m not a fan of collective punishment. They most probably did their best, he’s just a shit spokesperson.

I have a 3090 in a 7800x3d box with 64 gb ram and I had to drop from 7680x2160 to 3840x1080 to get decent framerates. I get better performance in Star Citizen. After a few CTD’s I just went ahead and got a refund.

I honestly don’t know what this “trainwreck” talk is. BL3 was passable. I didn’t like the antagonists, but the game played fine if purples dropped way too much and the new guns weren’t great. People make it seem like it was the Worst Game Ever and I don’t get it. The pre-sequel was hot garbage, but 3 was fine.

Welp, that’s what I did. Got my money back. I’ll buy it when it’s $19.99.

My job. I have to answer emails in the field, I need GPS to get to job sites (they don’t sell ADC map books at 7-11 anymore). I need to take pictures and respond to texts. I don’t need these things but as a business owner I’d rather have the one smart box in my pocket than have to carry around the individual tools for reasons. Also, I carry a flip phone. It just happens to be an extremely smart flip phone (Razr)

Oh, and ParkMobile. I can pay for parking nationwide with my phone. And Audiobooks. and… well shit, I guess it doesn’t end really. Sudoku while I poo for example.

Oh, oh, and also… why would I want to get rid of my smart phone? You meantion getting sleep. I don’t use my phone in bed. Bed is for sleeping and sexy times. I don’t do social media (unless you include this which is really just the modern version of channel surfing with chat attachment.) Maybe it’s my age. I didn’t grow up with screens like kids these days so to me it’s just another tool. I’m responding to this on my PC not my phone.

I run a 7800X3D on and X870 mobo, 64gb ram and an RTX3090, and couldn’t run it at my native 7680x2160 resolution and have a playable framerate. It was fine at 3840x1080, but randomly crashed to desktop (at 1/4 my normal resolution, that I can even play Star Citizen at.)

I refunded it after 3 hours. This was before Randy’s ridiculous response to the criticism. I was planning on buying again later when it’s fixed, but now I’m not so sure. The man is his own worst enemy.

I’m not dismissing the criticism of BL3, I honestly don’t know what it is beyond my personal experience. I wasn’t a big fan of the antagonists or the weapon changes, but It didn’t ruin the game for me. I really didn’t know that the game was so widely disliked - I never even looked into it. It came out, I played it, lost interest, and moved on with my life.

So, BL3 wasn’t great. the pre-sequel was out of house and doesn’t really count. It was made in an entirely other culture. It’s not like there have been a lot of games since BL2.

I’d like to say that while the game feels great, the engine does not. I had to drop from 7680x2160 to 3840x1080 to make it playable on an RTX-3090. For context, I can play Star Citizen at full resolution just fine (7800X3D, X870 mobo and plenty of RAM.) I think it’s a UE5 issue. I also CTD a few minutes ago.

Gameplay wise it feels like an updated BL game. motion is vastly improved with double-jumping, climbing and dashing mechanics. I can’t say much about the guns or skills, since I’m currently only lvl 5, but the auto-gathering of ammo and the addition of a medkit mechanic (hit T to use the med gun on yourself which is itself a loot item) is a welcome improvement.

That’s about as much as I can say so far. I hate that it was $70, but we all knew that was going to be the new normal for AAA games.

Honestly from the reviews I’ve seen I don’t think I’d ever expect end game. More “you win… here’s the credits” and now I realize it’s been a long time since I’ve played a game that did that.
