Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.

Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.

Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer.

    My guess?

Lit room: lots of things scattered around, colors, visual noise, over stimulating

Dark room: dark, not very visible, less/no noise, not (necessarily as) overstimulating

    anecdote

The most relaxed I have ever been was in the middle of a huge snowstorm the wind died down and the flakes were huge, I couldn’t hear anything, it was after sunset so once the flashlight was off it was pitch black, and with my coveralls, hoodie, thick coat, gloves and scarf I was warm and couldn’t really feel much of the outside. I just laid down for about 40ish minutes, occasionally seeing the dim spot of headlights from a passing car. Similar concept, dark and quiet, muted external stimuli.

  • This is exactly the dumb shit take from y2k.

I Still hear people go on about how “it was supposed to be this big thing and then nothing happened! Smart people are so dumb!”

Yeah nothing happened because a lot of smart people worked very hard to fix the goddamn problem, you fucking shitwaffle.

Here? “You dum dums got so worked up thinking it would pass and then it didn’t, so the freak out was for nothing!” yeah it didn’t pass because a lot of Europeans got very upset about their governments trying to spy on them harder than ever.

I’m not European, so I can’t say how people talked about it openly on the metro with random strangers, but online? People were vocal and pissed. A PROPER government (lol can we have some of that functioning democracy please) listens to its people. This was them listening to the people.

The people’s reaction was appropriate, and necessary. And shouldn’t be lessened just because “lol you guys got so propaganda’d and it was obviously never gonna happen and I knew cause I’m so smart” is quite the take on things.

  • I’ll be honest, they fucked this game over hard in my opinion.

It really does feel like they separated everyone into teams, and none of the teams spoke to each other once. They all just delivered their chunk of the game without connecting pieces together.

Base building was a nightmare, and that’s the primary reason I downloaded it in the first place.

Then I finished the main quest and spoilers ahead for anyone who cares

    spoiler

The concept of “well now you’re out of the universe so let’s go to a new one right at the start of the game again but this time a few things might be slightly different” was fun until all my hard work figuring things out with the bases got erased by “and by the way literally everything except your experience and abilities has been reset and you can either choose continuing the ability tree and maybe solve some mysteries of who built everything or you can care about the current universe but you can’t do both”

Kind of killed literally every desire I had to play the game. Especially when they patched the easily accessed chests that at least gave me a shortcut to some things.
