Selfhosted@lemmy.world•OPNsense Bare Metal vs VirtualizationEnglish
0·14 days agoI run opnsense in proxmox for a couple reasons. 1) I can snapshot the VM prior to upgrading, in case of an issue I can just rollback. 2) backups, I can backup the whole VM, which includes all the plugins, Not just the base opnsense config. 3) I don’t run anything on bare metal except my laptop.

Technology@lemmy.world•I went to an anti-tech rally, where Gen Z dressed as gnomes and smashed iPhones. Here's what I learned. | Business InsiderEnglish
7·29 days agoThis comment makes me sad. But I also feel like I’ve seen this. I honestly don’t know where the hate for FOSS comes from. Has this person that hates FOSS ever explained their hatred? Genuinely curious how someone could hate options.
If you like videos, I’d highly recommend techno Tims video on how to do this. Its what I used when building mine. Link

2·1 month agoLineageos I have several of these and they work great for the price. It is still android TV if that’s an issue, but they run fine without Google services for jellyfin, kodi and smartube.
