When you’re just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks, then I see no problem with this. You’re probably going to be trying both anyway. The question is just what order you try them in, which is a pretty low stakes decision for a patient to make.
I can only talk for depression medicine I took, but … there are side effects for medicine and you can very well talk about those and decide based on those. There are different personal preferences for risks and side effects. The doc obviously thinks both could work
