Won’t this bring money to Krafton? From the terrible thing they did to this game I have no interest in bringing them money ever again.
With that said I got nothing against the devs and looked forward to trying this game but all the drama totally took it out of me. Would probably have been a blast in multiplayer.
It’s definitely conflicting for me.
On the one hand, money for Krafton…
On the other, if they reach certain milestones, which it looks like they almost certainly will, then Krafton is required to pay out the $250 million…and the drama seems to have entirely come from Krafton.
So if I get the game, I contribute toward embarrassing Krafton since their CEO did this stunt entirely to avoid the “embarrassment” of paying it out and I get a game that’ll likely be very good from devs with a good track record.
In the short term, Krafton gets money from the purchase and if the milestone doesn’t get met, then they don’t have to pay out anything thereby getting my money as a net benefit…
glad to see they made another one, even though I couldn’t stand the first one. it’s the swimming in games. very bleh. I’m scarred from smb3 days

That’s totally understandable lol, water levels and sewer levels are usually the worst in games.
But I’d still recommend Subnautica to most players. It’s one of my favorite games of the last decade and has a good balance of environmental exploration, crafting, and story that doesn’t go overboard (pun intended) on complexity. And mechanically it feels pretty good to me.
I’m gonna have to install Win11, aren’t I…
I assume it will work on linux day one considering it’s steamdeck verified.
