How much tinkering did it take to get it stable? How much ongoing maintenance is needed?
This is why I recommend Mint with Cinnamon DE. Same reasons. It’s always interesting to see someone come to a different conclusion with the same reasoning. 🙂
I highly doubt the PineTime is stable and reliable enough for the mainstream.
Debian.
Yeah it was unfortunate because of their (basically) no returns policy I didn’t want to roll the dice on a second one.
Armbian was the most promising when I had mine, but still wasn’t ready. I just couldn’t get into manjaro, but every time I loaded a new OS the screen would die, come back, flciker and a “shadow” around the perimeter of the screen.
I remember getting a PineBook Pro when it came out. Seemed like a great machine but the screen failed in less than a week. Thankfully they refunded me but it was disappointing.
I’ll have a flip phone again… One day…

I’ve also never had any issues with my laser Brother printer.
Why does everything have to be a subscription. I miss the days of paying for an app once.
Chrome has interoperability for me, and I haven’t found a way to avoid giant tech corps when using technology these days.
What the benifit of something like bitwarden over using the build in ones in Android/iOS/Windows/MacOS?
For me it’s the camera. If the best camera I have is the one with me then the one with me is going to be the best I can buy (within reason) if they could get Samsung or Pixel quality (or iPhone I guess) that would be awesome.
