Brave users remind me of Joe Rogan bros. I wonder what that Venn diagram looks like.

1Password is good from what I understand, but yes it’s expensive compared to the competition. It just… is, and they don’t mind because they’re going primarily after enterprise business.
BitWarden is pretty much the leader in the field and has been for some time, not counting self-hosted only apps e.g. KeePass.
Not to mention, the Premium plan only costs $10/year or $1/month. I used the free version for sharing passwords with my SO for years until I wanted to start storing TOTP codes, which requires premium.
Yeah I understand what you’re saying, but by dumbing / watering it down you would then be stating, unironically, what the joke is making fun of. In my mind, the “PC Master Race” ethos both states that yes, “PC is best”, but also makes fun of ourselves explicitly so that we don’t take it too seriously.
I guess it would be better to say that we’ve allowed these things to be stolen. The shitheads definitely used these words & symbols to represent themselves, and then we as a society allowed them to be appropriated by and attributed solely to that group.
But the joke is “we’re part of the Glorious PC Master Race”, not “PC is best”. That’s some 5 year old bibble-babble bullshit.
The reality is that this community will either exist as c/pcmasterrace, or it simply won’t exist.
I think if you’re taking it that seriously, you’re not in on the joke.
Exactly. To add, what do people expect that it would be “changed” to? If you drop “master” and “race”, all you have left is “PC”… and there are already enough PC gaming communities across the various Lemmy instances.
In “changing” it, the community would simply no longer exist. Those who are of the opinion that the community should no longer exist should probably just move along.
Fair enough.
What would you be pointing them to if it’s not called c/pcmasterrace? “Hey, go check out c/pc”? There are already multiple PC gaming communities across the various Lemmy instances.
Either this community exists, or it doesn’t. Those who are of the opinion that it shouldn’t exist should probably just move along.
@[email protected] is just a mod, a user like you who also moderates a community. They have no control over the things you’re talking about, which would require the Lemmy developers to implement.
Racist pieces of shit have already stolen swastikas (meh), viking stuff, white polo shirts, red hats, and the OK hand gesture among many other things that we can no longer in good conscience use. Stop letting these assholes have our words, symbols and clothing items. Take them back, make them our own again.
No one is seriously mistaking the PC Master Race joke with an honest attempt to genocide our way to a “pure race” or some evil shit. Suggesting that the name be changed is cutting the nose off of a community solely in order to spite its face, and doesn’t ‘protect’ anyone.
To rephrase the question - If someone was looking over your shoulder at your Steam window, would they see the installed porn games in your library from your other account, even if the other account isn’t logged in?
How do you handle that in Steam itself though? Does it show games that other accounts have installed? Does it just not let you play those games unless you sign in as that account or are linked via family sharing?
I think it’s more appropriate to say that internet searches in general had been getting worse over the last several years, but it just so happened to be the case that your answer could likely be found in a reddit thread.
If nothing seems to happen after you click Subscribe, refresh the page. It should then say “Subscription Pending”. All you have to do at that point is wait a bit and it will eventually get added to your subs. The lemmy.ml server is being hammered by new users and it’s constantly slowing to a crawl or sporadically going down. Beehaw occasionally has the Subscription Pending issue, too.
But all the Musk bros told me he’s a “free speech absolutist”
