10 years ago me and my mom worked jobs from home. I did CenturyLink (phone company) and HSN and QVC. She did dish network, directv and Eddie Bauer. It was easier then to find wfh jobs than it is now. Then it was unusual, but no stigma. Now it’s like you’re an evil clown bent on molesting the village’s sheep if you even suggest it. -_-
But an excellent band name. Imagine “chemo for the soul” by Living Drugs, feat. 4skin
I’m not a power user or anything, and don’t understand most of the things in computing. I’m a basic user with mostly basic needs. But the only thing that ever gets me back on windows is when my college requires a program specific to a class. Linux is just freaking better, even at the very basic, mostly doing browser based shit level.
Yes. But smaller, and with a screen where the keyboard should be, and no bezel between the screens. Media consumption device, not something for any real productivity. Very lightweight, good for watching youtube or hulu, but clamshell so it protects the screen.
Same! I had the LG v60 dual screen case, and loved it. Thats the farthest I’m willing to go, though. It was unwieldy, and almost impossible to use a popsocket with, no way to use a wallet case, et cetera. It’s not worth that price tag for less options just for the occasional use of a bigger screen.
Now, foldable tablet? That’s something I’d be down for (in theory. I am poor.). Closes up small enough for a pocket, folds out when you use it. Only screen on one side, so it can tossed in a bag without worrying about it, because it’s closed up and the screen is protected.
In some places, you pay for utilities before using them, and they shut you fuck off right in the middle of the month if you’ve used it up. :/
I’m a pleb without a 3d printer. In the US. How much would one of your amazing keychains cost? I friggin love it.
I used high end android for a long time. The note series, mainly. When I had to step away from that, I switched to LG. I fucking loved LG. They were awesome. Half the price, and damn good.
Since they’ve stopped, I’ve had the pixel 6, and an A53. The pixel 6 was glitchy AF, and Google won’t allow HDMI over USB, which is a major use case for me, and the A53 just sort of sucks.
I miss high end android. :( but I won’t switch to iOS. I hate how locked down it is, and I’ve never liked the feel of the OS. I’m considering the pixel again, but no HDMI is really fucking with me. :(
I understood some of those words! Lol.
Oh, good, what a relief?
Well fuck. Is America about to invade America? I don’t know how much more freedom I can take.
I’d love to see the US fully mapped out with true highspeed rail, but part of the problem is the amount of time off work Americans have. We’re guaranteed nothing, and a pretty good portion of us have to use vacation time for sick days. A travel option that takes longer isn’t going to take off here because of that. People won’t spend an extra day travelling, changing trains, et cetera, when their entire vacation is a 3 day weekend so that they only have to use one vacation day in case they have to take their kid to the doctor 4 months later.
Not even close to arguing against the trains, just saying that we need to change some other shit, too. We need better labor laws that couple with things like forced caps on flights, less subsidiaries for airlines, the tracks being nationalized, priority given to Amtrak on certain lines, and better accessibility on the trains themselves.
And there’s no one there for raise them if you did
I have Jerboa, sync, connect, summit, and liftoff. Each is logged into a different account on a different instance. I like being to scroll through local timelines. On Reddit, I had several different accounts I used for different interests. Lemmy isn’t quite big enough for that yet, but different local timelines are interesting, and allow me something to do when one has down time.
Sadly, that’s well outside what I can realistically pay. Money is… A little tight. Lol.
Any way you could tell me/link me to somewhere to figure out how to do that? Bonus points if an idiot (me, I is the idiot) can understand it. I’m willing to pay 20 bucks a year… I just don’t know how.
Good bot. … Do we good bot here?
When you say export, is there a tool for that for, like, mass exporting your subs? Or do I have to manually search each one and sub again?
I ask because I’ve been meaning to switch to my alt, but I made a point of subbing to as many communities as possible to make Lemmy more fun to use for me, and good lord, it’s a lot to do.
