The way they showed the reasoning of the AI using a scratchpad makes it very hard not to believe these large language models are not intelligent. This study seems to imply some self awareness/self preservation behaviors from the AI.

3·7 months agoMine does this after closing a game until I open the steam menu, then the buttons work again??? So weird.
It looks pretty sweet. I have the killswitch case and use my deck similarly but with a $5 Walmart pillow and the kickstand.
