I like Jerboa and I was happy using it until Sync arrived. Still, there’s just nothing even close to the Sync experience for me.
Here’s to posting from Sync being available soon. Still have to go to other lemmy apps to post.
Yes. That is specifically for Google’s ad service. It’s gone with the ad-free version.
Small government is allegedly still at part of the Republican platform at the state level. For a small government party, they sure do like to dictate what’s going on in people’s bedrooms.
The party of small government.
You don’t have to spend $20. You can use it for free without limitations. Or you can choose to spend $20 to remove ads if you like the app and don’t like ads.
Lemmy is still small. The dev can’t rely on tens of thousands of people on lemmy to buy Sync for $1-2 each like he could on reddit. The cost must be spread out on fewer users.
I don’t mind supporting the developer. He can’t rely on tens of thousands of user to buy the app for $1 each on lemmy like he could on reddit. It’s going to be more expensive per user here.
Absolutely. Lemmy had a very different feel than reddit up until Sync was released. Now I can barely tell the difference.
Lemmy still has a lot less users than reddit. The dev can’t rely on tens of thousands of users to buy the app for $1 each. I think he’s doing a great job with this app and I don’t mind supporting him.
Also, the addition of Sync to the lemmy ecosystem will draw a ton of new people in and help grow the platform.
I bought it. I want to support LJ. He’s doing a great job and really got shafted by reddit.
Pretty sure this will bring a ton on new activity. I, for one, feel right at home now.
I believe the developer is working on a one-time payment Pro version that removes ads. Ultra has additional features for a subscription fee.
There seems to be a lot of that. Thanks for the heads-up.
Yes, definitely awesome. I’m getting a lot of Error 403, though. I’m sure it will stabilize. Really missed Sync.
Makes sense if that’s the case. Thanks.
Does that mean there’s only going to be a subscription based “pro” version?
I was a Pro user on reddit, but I’m not really interested in yet another subscription, even though I understand that may be financially attractive for you. I’d be happy to make a one-time purchase, though.
Jerboa is pretty good. Probably the smoothest I’ve tried. Liftoff is pretty good as well.
I’m waiting for Sync to come out for Lemmy and I’ll jump back on that.
I hope I’ve bought my last gasoline car.
