Who said they weren’t possible?
You’re correct, I completely misread that. I wonder why they didn’t go with NuraOS/Nura OS, though? It is a fairly standardised naming format that would make it immediately clear, regardless of context, that the thing being discussed was an operating system.
Finally the name is descriptive. Although that can help people understand what the project is about
Nura comes as an abbreviation of Nuraghe, which are ancient (3000 BC and older) granite structures found in Sardinia in Italy, many of which still stand today. The deeper meaning is the stability and the resistance to millenniums, which fits well with the our project as the idea has been from the start to keep devices our OS runs on useful for a long time.
Pretty weird logic. The previous name was a literal description of the project, the new one is way more vague. I seriously doubt anyone will understand what it is based on an abbreviation of literal ancient history.

My understanding is that it was the latter. From the ABC (Australia):
How was the data accessed?
As the government understands it, in this case, OpenAI gave an agent a “benign” task of trying to do research about public medicines spending.
The model then searched the internet widely for the information, and came across the Services Australia portal.
It then asked questions of the portal, but the portal didn’t provide it with the requested information. As a result, it gained unauthorised access and secured information that wasn’t public.

You think we don’t have any of that on Lemmy? The Fediverse is full of batshit insane people.

No one was talking about it, though.

Using social media as a news feed is cringe.

Yeah it’s quite a nice app. I use the one from my local weather bureau, but if that didn’t exist I’d definitely consider Breezy Weather.

I’m not sure why it says that, it has always worked for me in Australia.

They mentioned that in the post, but yes - Breezy Weather is a good weather app if you don’t already have one.

Firstly, the launcher only supports the weather in Germany. If you’re not in Germany, it won’t work.
This is not true. The default weather widget works outside of Germany.

It depends if you’re keeping track of it or not, I’d say.

I haven’t played for a couple of months, but when I am playing I almost always get at least Extra Stamina (if not Superior Stamina). I enjoy practicing my movement during matches, but I’m nowhere near good enough to do it without errors so some extra stamina allows me to trial and error where I otherwise wouldn’t be able to.

I live in Australia.

I agree. Micro-blogging was always bad, even in the early Twitter days. The people that used it back then and yearn for an equivalent now are the most opinionated, self-absorbed wankers online.

This poses an active danger. We are visual creatures. It will cause distraction.
We are way past that point. Cars have had massive, phone shaped touch screens in them for years. Every year, more and more of the cabin controls are moved from physical buttons and knobs, that you can operate and adjust without taking your eyes off the road, to settings hidden behind multiple layers of menus on the gigantic touch screen. In some cars you can’t even change the direction of the air conditioning without accessing the touch screen.

Yes, my longest running account was also banned after I used an offensive word directed at homophobic redditors abusing the first openly gay professional footballer in Australia. I was banned, but they were not. It’s a consistent theme on reddit; what matters is how you say things, now what you actually say.
Losing the account was not the problem for me, it was that only certain types of hateful/offensive language were punished. I’d rather have a free for all like exists in some Lemmy communities than a shit in between like that.

I don’t travel overseas often, so yes - I probably would wipe it the next time. Restoring from a backup is pretty quick and easy these days, so I would feel comfortable leaving it in a barebones state until clearing customs and border security.
But I also don’t use GrapheneOS, nor would I ever use the duress PIN feature. I expect people using both to take their privacy and security more seriously than me and be willing to take the extra precautions rather than emergency wiping at the last minute when things go wrong. I feel like it’s pretty dumb to be an anti-cop political activist in the US at the moment with GrapheneOS on your phone and then not look into or think about any of this stuff beforehand.

Interesting, I had wondered if/when we’d get a story like this. It seems kind of crazy to me that this guy chose to wipe it in the airport instead of before traveling, particularly if the US actually has laws that allows it to prosecute him in this scenario.
I’m not a Vyper player, so I can’t offer much advice. She is one of the stronger laners so you should always try to play aggressively at the start.
I recommend watching some good Vyper players for a bit of motivation and to passively learn. Zerggy is usually the carry player for Buff Enjoyers, one of the top pro teams, and has played Vyper as a gun carry in the past. Check out his VODs for an idea of what it can look like.
