The main problem with the Pro is that it completely fails at the thing it was primarily marketed for: AR passthrough.

The cameras are so bad that when you use video passthrough, everything is blurry. It’s completely unusable. No one will ever use it for productivity tasks in its current form. Meta should have just focused on making a high end gaming version because they failed at making it usable for anything business related.

It’s more complex than that.

The way the US is spread out makes public transit prohibitively expensive and difficult to achieve proper coverage. To make it effective, you would have to shift the entire way we live. Our entire society is built off the concept that everyone has a car.

Add to the fact that building transit is extra expensive in the US and you arrive at the reality that we will NEVER have a working transit system. That’s why the shift to small cars is needed. We don’t have any more room for roads, so we need more cars to fit in the roads we have

Yeah while this suit covers a very specific scenario, a large majority of AI driven content does have human interaction and does qualify for copyright.

Even just a draft, fed into an AI finishing system, has some human interaction. Nothing is going to stop the AI revolution.

Other journalists websites do this all the time now, and claim authorship. If they can get away with it, I don’t see why we can’t.

Anyone with exposure to Crypto either already collapsed, or wound down their position, so there wasn’t a huge effect on markets. AI will be similar. Some VC will fail, but it’s not the same as the dotcom bubble. It won’t cause a recession

OpenAI may fail if Microsoft doesn’t keep throwing money at it, but they already got what they want out of it. They’ll probably just end up acquiring the foundation and make money from the ways they’re implementing it in their products.

This seems like an “if you build it, they will come” situation. We clearly don’t have a thriving chip maker industry in this country, so it’s going to take a while to build that job market.

Microsoft reported profitability in their AI products last quarter, with a substantial gain in revenue from it.

It won’t take long for them to recoup their investment in OpenAI.

If OpenAI has been more responsible in how they released ChatGPT, they wouldn’t be facing this problem. Just completely opening Pandora’s box because they were racing to beat everyone else out was extremely irresponsible and if they go bankrupt because of it then whatever.

There’s plenty of money to be made in AI without everyone just fighting over how to do it in the most dangerous way possible.

I’m also not sure nVidia is making the right decision trying their company to AI hardware. Sure, they’re making mad money right now, but just like the crypto space that can dry up instantly.

The bug with Rattlers is that sometimes the cluster munitions inside the missile don’t get restocked. That’s most likely why you see this happening.

I remember when Rattlers worked well 😃 and everyone was spamming them, but that was many years ago. Missiles in general started working better again in 3.18, but they’re still pretty hit-or-miss. And NPCs will target and shoot them now! so Rattlers might be the way to go (too many projectiles for them to get them all).

There’s nothing stopping you from calling a taxi instead of an Uber.

I’m sure there are some regulations that could help, but there’s also value to the free market. Uber is a luxury service so paying more when it is in high demand makes normal sense.

No one is being forced to use it and there are always other alternatives. Plus, in average, an Uber ride is cheaper than a taxi. Just because surge prices are high to meet demand doesn’t mean there’s a problem.

I have Asian friends that have used these tools and generated headshots that were fine. Just because this one Asian used a model that wasn’t trained for her demographic doesn’t make it a reflection of anything other than the fact that she doesn’t understand how MML models work.

I think part of it is his own hubris through. His head is so far up his head by now that he though he knew better. It’s the same reason why Super Heavy destroyed itself on first launch. He thought he was smarter than his engineers and forced them to go without a proper launchpad.
