volts (U, probably 19VDC) is constant. The laptop has a resistance ®. This means that the laptop has already dictated the amount of currents (I) that it pulls. You can connect an 100A charger to an phone. The phone dictates howmuch it actually pulling. There is no battery damage/harm in doing so.
If you charge a battery at full-speed, It can heat up. This is in the long term bad for (Lithium) batteries. That’s where the myth might come from?

For USB-C: Tiny little side note here, there are some cheap small-size adapters that overheat. Some adapters thotle down, but some rare ones just blink power on and off, which is bad for lithium batteries.
Search a good brand, preferably reviewed, and GAN-type. Spend a bit more than the cheapest. Check if it has the right protocol (probably Power Delivery at some voltage) to make sure it charges at a normal speed.
For a DC charger like OP asked. Match polarity, match Voltage. And at least match the current/watage to make sure you can charge in a reasonable amount of time
Subscriptions aren’t the only sustainable model. Linux, Blender, VLC are actively maintained without requiring every user to pay a recurring fee. They rely mostly on donations, or one-time funding. And it works
A subscription may be a good model for some apps where they have high user-level server cost. But anywhere else I refuse
I have so far had 4 advance replacement (get new hardware, ship old hardware back later) for free. Even outside warranty period. And this story is the same for all my friends as far as I know off.
So I guess we both had quite some different experiences
Does it also come with HDMI CEC?
Does it come with good basically lifetime support?
Would it get developers optimise for that exact hardware?
Would it run as quit and efficient?
I’d you just going for raw hardware speed. And don’t care about anything else. You can always make a faster system yourself.
But I know enough people who don’t dare to touch anything near a custom computer, who are looking into this cube

I have a stack of Google Home minis, and it’s a pile of trash Im trying to get away from.
You ask it to play music, it says “ok” and then just do nothing at all.
And these days it has the nifty AI stuff in it to. So it hallucinates some answers too!

For a second I though this was something bad for my computer. But is mainly a server permissions issue it seems. Will patch my server when I’m home though

We personally have the whole TV on a Vlan, so it can’t acces anything at all. While our server/HA can still send a WOL command to it, and jellyfin can stream our movies to it. I run all of it on top of TrueNas, most as an app or else an VM.
I have never tried to set something up for YouTube specifically, since that runs on a Chromecast (for now…)
