The elderberries are finally starting to ripen and the beautyberries are starting to fruit. The box huckleberry seems to be very happy this year, I dunno why though. The maypops and creeping cucumbers have finally come out, late as they usually do, and are climbing everything. Unfortunately so are the invasive morning glories that I have to keep rescuing everything else from. The young pricklyash is finally starting to look more like a tree than a rose bush. The ostrich and maidenhair ferns are having their second terrible year in a row, not sure what’s going on there. Mayapples are very nearly ripe. Finally, the neighbor and landlord have murdered an even greater chunk of the garden. Nearly a third dead to poison…

A combination of SearXNG and Stract, for the most part. They’re definitely not perfect (yet), but they mostly get the job done! And I think they both have a lot of cool filters and refinement settings that I haven’t even taking advantage of so far.

For niche stuff it seems like a lot of hyper targeted search engines are popping up, like Sepia Search for PeerTube.

Pennsylvania, U.S.A. I hear it’s a fairly common policy here but does vary from provider to provider. As I understand it, most areas in the U.S. have at most 2 ISP companies to choose from, and many only have 1. So they can kinda set whatever BS policies they want.

That’s what I’ve been wondering, like can I just do it anyway? I have Verizon FiOS gigabit, for reference. If they really just don’t care then I don’t mind violating TOS at all, but I wasn’t sure if they do or not

I’ve heard of options to get around the lack of static IP, but will something like this also keep my ISP off my back about hosting? If so I’m onboard!

Oh yeah! And what’s even more fun, each part has a slightly different flavor. Even the berries taste different green vs red, with vs without seed, etc. It’s really versatile.

Sure! I mostly grind dried parts of them into spice mixes, i.e. seeds, bark, leaves. It’s got kind of a peppery, citrussy, piney flavor. I like it in pancakes, yogurt, curry, tea… lotsa stuff.

That swallowtail has excellent taste… spicebush is delicious 😌👌

Yes please! I’m kind of a novice at coding and foolishly decided to try doing my own Rust + Activitypub project, so obviously I’m in wayyyy over my head. This would be really really helpful!

Luckily the Rust documentation is very good, but the Activitypub documentation is very bad, and the Activitypub-in-Rust documentation is nearly nonexistent. It must be in the Zeitgeist right now or something, I was literally just wishing that something like what you propose existed.

Seconded the programming.dev instance! They’ve got communities for like every kind of programming, I’m moderating a Haxe community there. Right now it’s quiet enough that I think you’d be better off sending more traffic that way than making a new community on Beehaw, but I could be wrong.
