That’s good to hear. I just recently ordered some of that phase change material for my 6700 XT. I’m hoping it’s going to rein in the temps a bit. I’ve also seen my card hit 110°C tjunction which is decidedly not excellent.

No mention of thermals. My RX 6700XT is like a freaking space heater. I hope things have improved on the AMD side in that regard.
Yup. This was my paint.net replacement.

Wasn’t there a thread the other week warning everyone about Microsoft device fingerprinting and there were chuds in the comments saying it was a nothing-burger and the fingerprinting was necessary for licensing or some shit? Talk about timing!

I still use it with friends. Not because it’s private (it’s obviously not) and not because it’s good(it’s infested with ads) but because of the convenience of having the ability to send silly inconsequential videos and photos throughout the day without having to worry about that content consuming space on my device or having to go back and clean said content from my device. In that way I find it pretty convenient. That said, from a privacy standpoint it’s probably worse than most other options. Don’t use it with any expectations of privacy.

Basically every new vehicle made in the last 5 years has connected features. That’s why I said “not buy a vehicle” I was using hyperbole to point out that the options are limited if you want a new vehicle without connected features. Options are even slimmer if you have specific requirements for a vehicle outside of basic transportation.

Is the Linux disk still visible in your UEFI firmware?

What’s the alternative? Not buying a vehicle? If I wasn’t in the US and actually had good public transportation available to me I certainly would forego vehicle ownership. As it stands, it is frustrating to think I will one day lose the remote start feature, but it’s not a deal breaker.

My new vehicle has remote start, but only via the app. It’s a useful feature but frustrating that my trim level doesn’t also have it available via the keyfob. Once the manufacturer ends support for my vehicle I will lose the feature out-right.
He’s been on version 22 since I set it up back it February of this year. I don’t think a new major version had come out since then. (I actually haven’t thought to check) my plan was just to do a fresh install as needed for major updates, or when his current version stops receiving security updates since new features aren’t really a concern for him.
FydeOS might be more in line with what you need. Based on ChromeOS, but without the Google account requirements and spyware. I installed this on my dad’s PC along with setting up DNS-based Ad blocking and it’s been rock solid. If he just needs a browser, that’s basically what it is.

Probably a bad boy… With a gun.

So happy I decided to go “overkill” and max out my old AM4 board with 64GB of DDR4. It was a whopping $130!

Not surprising, honestly. DJI had been eating their lunch and GoPro never could figure out how to keep their damn cameras from overheating all the time. Everyone I know switched to DJI.

I like how they think they’re somehow special for walking around with their laptops open. Business idiots have been doing this forever. It isn’t some new “AI coder” thing. Jane from fucking accounting does this on the way to her meetings too you morons.
Yeah, I was agreeing with them. I also selfhost my music.
Seriously. I listen to my music from multiple devices. Having to keep all of them in sync (lol) when obtaining new music would be a chore.
Mine is just Debian.
I believe the ones pumping it up are the “AI bros” and “tech bros” AKA non-technical folks. These types don’t actually have the skills or knowledge to put together something like this themselves so they rally around Omarchy because that work has already been done for them.
