They claimed to use the same protections as others. Is there a more accurate article about how their lending was faulty?
Yeh - but it does not include efta
Aren’t they already in use by some stores? M
Maybe most of this is just circus to keep you worried?
The thing I don’t like about them is the BT tracking/detection. Not seen any system with the capability to track individuals, but it will show heat maps of where people spend time and clump up. This comes “free” as it’s usually zigbee or similar radios that are used, and these support BT
They are - and they’re e-ink based so power lasts a long time. I’ve not been to a store that don’t have them in many years.
They’re great - always showing the correct price/ amount, and it’s less hassle for the store to change.
As long as you have a free market and not a coordinated one it will work out great for you guys too
I’m still not sure your car thing would match here - unless they refuse to sell you a car that you only use in the USA. I’m guessing these stores are brand owned? Why else would you refuse a sale - even if it’s useless to the buyer
I could see rights come into play - but they usually regulate within the nation.
I would think this is connected to name/address/payment not matching the country you claim to live in. If it’s VPN detection then a WiFi router doing the VPN would work fine.
It sounds kinda illegal. Can Coca-cola stop me from going to Denmark to buy for danish prices and claim I have to pay Norwegian prices?
It’s directly comparable to buying danish subscription and using the service from a danish exit. If my data originates in china and are vpn-ed to Denmark they have the same cost on providing me service as anyone else in Denmark
Edit: I’ve never been to China, but it’s like really far away from Denmark.
Yeah - as moderation don’t work here only option is to block posters
Ppa’s are Ubuntu… Debian is not Ubuntu even if Ubuntu is Debian
A ppa is a repo. It’s Ubuntu stuff, and there’s no reason to work your ass off for Ubuntu for free. They’ll just shit on you and claim that snaps are great (they’re not)
A controversial suggestion, but you could read up and maybe take a few courses. While I love UX/interaction design you might want to start with UI design and design patterns. Once you get a basic UI and know when to implement different patterns you can move on and work on the UX.
I would suggest the same here, some learning is needed. There’s a reason you hire UX designers and not just more programmers.
I’m quite sure it won’t be long until some bad practice spreads like this. Giving clueless “Linux pros” top advice on how to enable a back door.
LLMs can be poisoned and as datasets increase and complexity grows it will be harder to contain.
Cgpt works great for some stuff, but all you know is that someone somewhere wrote something similar. They are no better than Google in predicting what is good material and what’s wrong, and training is statistics.
Have you tried turning it off and back on again?
If that doesn’t help boot with a live-cd or rescue, and check that your grub config points to a valid kernel.
Your hdd might be the culprit but it’s very hard to say from that screen. Maybe the one previously that can show your boot command
Well - the screen seems to indicate that it might wanna duel you anyway
I might be a special case as I Mostly use Linux for servers. But I have maybe experienced one such case on the last three years on our 50-odd servers
While you will get somewhat the same from apt, I like the Debian way of providing base config support in packages and have local config loaded by include statements.
As you don’t edit the default config and automatic updates can happen w/o user input and your config will stay safe
Fake news….
Linux is not always the answer, and free to install isn’t always cheap.
Msn is google?
