Senior Chief Petty Officer. Starfleet is in my blood, and I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to boldly going.

Keiko and Molly are my favorite humans, but Transporter Room 3 will always be my favorite.

Just don’t ask who what’s in the pattern buffer.

  • A dramatization, by someone slightly baked:

"This is my neighbor. I keep him from getting too uppity by basically making it impossible to live here, since because of Me everything is insanely expensive or they literally can’t buy it.

As anyone who works for me can tell you, it’s not MY fault I’m doing this. It’s because I don’t like the colors of their shirt. Blame the shirt. And everyone take a look at how dumb wearing this shirt makes you look! See what happens when you wear it? You end up like him EVERY TIME! For more proof just look at all these other people who’s shirts I didn’t like and also attempted to kill (allegedly wink wink) and see how poorly they’re doing. I’m such a good neighbor. Just ask my richer neighbor. And ignore anyone inside frantically shaking their head no. Number 1!"

  • I keep seeing aa lot of neat things about Kenshi, but when I tried it out I felt completely lost and lost interest before I really figured anything out.

I don’t like when games baby you, but I do like a little hand-holding to get me started.

Maybe I’m just a big dum and turned off the tutorial/tips/skipped something I shouldn’t have? Not sure but your comment definitely makes me want to give it another go when I have a couple of days free.

  • I haven’t played a live service game since Destiny 2 decided to completely remove all the shit I paid for, then lock everything new behind even more pay walls.

I’ve been playing dozens of games since then. It’s not hard to find games that aren’t live service and likely won’t be touched outside of stability and a couple QoL things here and there.

I’m all for laws requiring all games to be playable offline, and without any sort of bullshit “online activation”. I paid for a game, I want to play the game without having to download shit first. I want to play the game whether my hanky-ass internet connection is stable or even nonexistent today. I want to be able to use the thing I paid for without having to jump through extra hoops, no matter how large or “on the ground” the hoop is. It’s still a hoop.

To summarize the comment you are replying to:

“astronauts dying is a price Boeing is willing to pay”

“now pay the executives their bonus because, as executives, they are better than you. They also built this country by themselves with their bare hands, without help”

It’s extremely facetious, and pointing out that Boeing doesn’t give a shit about safety or the people in space, they just want money.

If you’re upset that lemmy isn’t trying to solve this problem… Well then I can’t help you there. This isn’t a place to investigate solutions to global problems or company management issues.

If you want to have one, by all means go make one yourself! unless you turn the speed dial to Plaid, it literally can’t be worse than the shitty job the companies are currently doing.
