There’s a great gnome extension called Fullscreen Avoider that moves the top bar to the other screen when your primary is full screen. It’ll give you the clock and the rest of your menus too.
Games seem to be the thing that holds people back. I think it definitely depends on what games you play as my experience has been pretty smooth. A little tinkering … but it’s a new OS so that’s expected. Check out protondb.com to keep an eye on games you play to see what their playability is like.
Having said that … it’s been about 3 weeks and I only needed to boot into Windows for a few hours when Ubisoft Connect got an update and broke proton compatibility. Blizzard is now bringing lots of games to Steam which will also help a ton.
I’m stoked for this! Fairly new to Linux and tried out a few distros and pop_os has been my favorite so far. Gnome is intuitive to me, but I do like customizing a bit more so this kind of sounds like the best of both worlds.
Didn’t realize they also did consumer computers and for having house made parts and being all open source, it is very affordable. Cool stuff!
Fortunately I think this is one of the ones that will stay around.
Yeah I am liking lemmy but smaller communities definitely suffer here. My small communities never show up in my subscribed feed, doesn’t matter the sort type.
I know people say there “isn’t an algorithm” (there is), but maybe it should be made in a way that elevated some smaller communities instead of just being !memes for 90% of posts.
It’s still amazing as a free app? You don’t have to convince people to pay $20 unless they want to support the dev
After having one, it’s really amazing and the form factor and random utility it brings (built in tripod, easy to aim flash light and be hands free). The screens just need work. The crease is a non-issue as far as using the phone, but the little screen protectors that manufacturers say not to take off will deteriorate after like 6 months.
I think it’s close though and I do often miss my foldable.
That dude already sounds like an AI deep fake voice
