I hate assholes that do this. Why? I mean really why?
I am an archo-communist, cat-loving dude with a very eclectic range of interests and passions. Currenty, I’m into networks of all kinds and open source software.
I hate assholes that do this. Why? I mean really why?
You’re welcome and I am happy that I could make you feel better.
If you think you’re going to need formal and legal accommodations in your workplace or career then it would be a good idea to get an official diagnosis. I had a late diagnosis at 38 myself.
I reread your comment and it was actually I who misunderstood you. Apologies for that.
There is and I just discovered it this afternoon. Go to your profile settings and it will be there. Look for Type and Options fields. Hope this helps some.
IMHO, inkjet printers as a whole are a scam. That is, unless you buy a really high end one for professional photo printing.
I for one am happy to watch it die! Burn baby burn! 🔥
I am not 100% certain that this is the correct answer but I think distributed computing still happens but it between containers and VMs instead of physical machines. This is just a guess though and could be wrong.
I am using the Liftoff app. It looks pretty safe but I don’t really know.
It will go alright. Just take deep breaths and try not to think about the outcome. I learned late in life at 38. It rocked me to my core but explained a lot and helped to know where I needed to go next. Do tell us how things go. I’m pulling for you.
If you use mastodon, you can also send me a message that way. I’m @[email protected]
The way Rolling Stone put it, Twitter welcomed the Taliban with open arms as if to say, “Please come in. The water’s warm so you might as well swim.” Elon Musk is facist and a support of fellow fashies.
Trumblr is still corporate social media and given a different turn of events would sell you out to get ahead so I don’t have any soft place in my heart for that.
That’s kind of what Lemmy, Mastodon, Friendica, and Pixelfed among others are already doing.
I feel you! I am at the point where I’ve become ice cold and jaded. That much said, have you thought about doing something in information technology? I know that Linux Sys Admins are getting paid big bucks right now. You might be able to even work from home because a lot of that stuff you can do without being onsite. You’ve got an engineering degree and many firms want somebody with both that background and some Linux/Open source exposure.
I probably have 20 years on you age wise and I am looking at that path right now because I’ve used Linux and open source since the 90s. My degree though is Criminal Justice which might as well be basket weaving. So I’ve a leg down. Although I might be able to teach A+ or Network+ I definitely don’t have the patience to work with people anymore.
I am also autistic and this world just is not made for people like us. Despite being able to run rings around the people I work with in terms of knowledge and experience, I am relegated to the tasks nobody wants to do and I am treated like I am mentally deficient or slow. It’s definitely not you, it’s the world man.
I’m waiting for it to mature before I evangelize it as well. The current state of it could frustrate somebody less technical.
There is something of a learning curve with Lemmy. I’ve been using it on my own server now for just over 24 hours. Basically, I am liking it though. I know it’s still somewhat clunky but I suspect it will get better with time.
I confess that I didn’t expand the post to look at it.
I had to actually look up the definition of that word. I may very well have had this when I was young because I know I walked late and crawled late so this is a possible explanation for that. But my memory is hazy. I know sometimes I have difficulty with where I am in reference to other people or objects.
Google reaps a more than simply healthy profit compared to what it outlays to help open source projects. Alphabet is not doing this out of altruism so it’s definitely profit motivated. Google’s cash outlay to benefit FOSS is mere peanuts when compared to the lucrative value it gets in return.
The only DDoS that I can half-way tolerate is ones that go against corporations/governments that do evil shit. And even then, those attacks had better not effect people’s health and welfare needs. Yes, assholes abound.
