I agree wholeheartedly and I also signed late while being Finnish.

From what I’ve gathered here and elsewhere they never really went full throttle on all that stuff for most of us here in the EU.
Now don’t get me wrong, W11 is utter shite, and I had to essentially build a new computer from scratch to even get it running properly, but I still haven’t seen any ads or any other bullshit like that.
This is exactly why my old computer is merrily running Mint, and it likes it.
Edit: If it wasn’t for the fact that I happen to primarily use Cinema 4D for work I wouldn’t even have bothered, probably. Relearning 20+ years of software flow for the other options seemed silly at the time, but I would’ve reconsidered had I known what a mess W11 would become for me and in general.
More disappointed than surprised but still…
Jfc.
No, apparently it’s even worse; woke!
:DDDD
It’s not only the US that got hit by that russian campaign to mess with youths and even younger children. Europe for its fair share as well. It also plays into their “oh look at the degenerate west” playbook perfectly.
They’re responsible for so much damage that I have no idea how it’ll end. Not even children with tech savvy parents are immune, as I can attest to myself.
It’s important as fuck to have discussions about bad content to children ass soon as they get any kind of screen available to them, and it should never ever be a babysitter unless it’s under controlled circumstances.
It’s also a good idea to start teaching your children how any tech they use works and what happens under the hood if they’re interested. They’re certainly less likely to get influenced by any bad actors if they know what’s what.
The only jobs I’ve ever had were teaching and nursing, both paid by the country I live in, not some private entity. I don’t even own a car or a TV, nor do I live in the US for that matter.
Get your head out of your ass and realise there’s more to life than fucking money. I was born poor and will die poor, but I don’t give a shit because I at least know I helped some people along the way.
Jfc, the bubble some live in. You should be ashamed of yourself, but I guess you’re not even capable of that, are ya?
Your whole series of posts in this thread are seriously unhinged. Are you trying to cosplay a corpo bootlicker or something?
It’s either that or you’ve been born wealthy enough to never have to think about the money you spend.
Thank you for this, valuable info right there.
Ugh. Typical corporate bullshit.
Please tell me you’re joking. I was just beginning to like some of the discord communities I’ve joined over the years.
Fuck that guy, seriously. Activision already ruined WoW, which I sincerely liked a lot for a very long time.
Now there’s a name I haven’t seen in a while and that makes me a little bit sad.
While I completely agree with you, that is the one thing that could change with just one thing going right for one of all the groups that work on just that problem.
It’s what happens after that that’s really scary, probably. Perhaps we all go into some utopian AI driven future, but I highly doubt that’s even possible.
By far one of the easiest decisions was jumping on over here - and I barely understand it half the time.
Second best was ditching Facebook like it was cancer.
Finnish, not Ukrainian. Whenever a second front opens up, and it will, it’ll be right here.
You might’ve talked to one Ukrainian. I’ve lived right next to the fucking russians my entire life, and I’m telling you you’re utterly wrong.
You might not listen, but that’s on you.
You’re wasting your time. I happen to live in a country with a very long border to Russia (guess which one) and I know you’re full of shit simply because we’re dealing with the motherfuckers daily. NATO is and always has been a defensive alliance. We all know that. Russia is simply using it as a really idiotic excuse to do what they wanted to do in the first place. We all know that too.
Simply put, the time for this kind of bullshit is over and done for. Nobody that isn’t already dumb enough to side with those fucknuts believes any of this shit.
As for the US, yeah well up until Putin and his cronies got all the clowns to come out they weren’t actively harming anyone deliberately. Sure, there are war crimes and assholes all over, but also a lot of good-natured and sincerely well meaning people. There have also been trials and sentences for said assholes, as opposed to Russia where you can beat your wife to death and it’s all good.
You don’t find a lot of good in Russia, and you haven’t for a long time. My grandfather fought them, and either me or my son will probably fight them eventually. We’ve already taken action once. It won’t stop there.
Propagandan is one of Kremlin’s biggest tools, and it has been since the wall went up and it certainly never stopped when it came down.
Over time it has become the cheapest way for them for sow discord and infighting between their adversaries. Moving it online made it even cheaper and they’ve been at it hard the past decade or two.
Obviously the US have their own operations, but your point is not correct in any way. Look at what they’ve accomplished. The world is in chaos and they’re largely responsible for a lot or even most of it, depending on how you look at the big picture.
There are a lot of dudes working for the fucking Russians too.
Speaking of Richochet and love reminds me of a guy I halfway knew in my youth. He had the bright idea to jerk off a quick one in the middle of a LAN party (I know, right?). After he inevitably got caught (despite being somewhat secluded) he alt tabbed from whatever grainy porn clip he had up straight into Ricochet just as he… well ya know.
He never came to another LAN party again, but 20+ years later he’s still known as the guy who jerked off to Richochet.
I live in Finland using Android on a Nokia and I can switch Gemini off completely and choose to use the old Google Assistant instead. It did initially appear out of nowhere when they patched it in, but I could immediately turn it off with the same prompt that the other guy also got.
If it’s unavoidable it seems to be an US only thing atm.
