Anna’s Archive 2: The quest for more knowledge

I’m happy with every AAA game striving for RDR2 level of quality if we also get AA games from the same studios. And of course indie games are always gonna indie.
If they try to make only super huge AAAs and nothing less, then games are infrequent and quality suffers when they have to be rushed out when money’s getting tight.

Whatever Ubisoft or Microsoft deem to be a AAAA game because they’re the only ones using that term.

IPhones get software updates for 5-7 years and high end Androids from some manufacturers are also finally catching up to this. Plus the app may not always require the absolute newest version of the OS. Might get 7-8 years out of a brand new high end phone.
Still doesn’t change the fact that now you HAVE to have an Android or iOS device and I’m betting they’ll use play integrity too.

No, combustion engines don’t weigh much nowadays. 100-300 KG is common. Battery pack alone for a Model S is 544 KG, motor+inverter+transmission is another 140ish. For an RWD car, AWD of course adds another one of these (it also adds drivetrain complexity in an ICE vehicle, but not as much additional weight as in an EV).
VW ID.3 is apparently 41% heavier than a similar sized Golf.

Who wants a more front-heavy car? That’s just a recipe for understeer and I prefer having the ability to turn on ice.

You can put a petrol fire out in less than a few days though. Petrol doesn’t magically catch fire upon seeing oxygen either.

Does the robot have any sharp bits? Tempered glass doesn’t require much force if using, say, a broken bit of spark plug.

No Android fork that I know of, but the APIs are separate crates from the gtk ui so there’s nothing stopping you from using those crates to create an Android app unless there’s some dependency that doesn’t sit well with Android or something - I haven’t tried it.

Unfortunately yes. I still think the rotary knob is the ultimate infotainment control interface since it’s much easier to use while driving. Still, I’ll take the large screen for navigation over my tiny one even if I have to use the touch screen. Voice control rarely works for me, I have a very thick accent.

You can also contribute to PipeLine, it’s a desktop client that aggregates YouTube and a few others. And it’s written in Rust.
The issue with YouTube is the network effect though. Even if you can get a lot of users to use one of those multi platform clients, it’s still hard to get the creators to leave. And till they stay, the users stay.

None of those have all the creators and people don’t want to go between multiple apps.
This fight is lost. The way to win it now is legislation or blowing up data centers.

Yes. You will quit YouTube. But 99% of people won’t and they make YouTube more revenue via either watching more ads or giving up and subscribing

It’s nice to have it on a fixed screen of decent size rather than on a floppy mount and a 6.x" screen. The car screen doesn’t need to be a touchscreen though. My Mercedes had Carplay with a rotary dial, no touchscreen. That was when they were still being conservative with their tech, then they went the hyperscreen route.

The alternative at this point is laggy digital interfaces unfortunately.

Also apparently the phone doesn’t radiate you while in your pocket, only on the can.

There’s dozens of sources, I linked the first one. The things they mention actually happened and have been corroborated by other sources.
She basically always agrees with Putin’s propaganda. Either she’s an asset or a useful idiot.
If you can’t replace explorer.exe with a third party desktop environment, it’s kind of part of the OS.
