These days I skip all, self-promotion and in-video sponsors included.
Sounds like you probably use it but if not, get the SponsorBlock extension to do exactly this.

Hmm, maybe a center for admins as well? Not sure what all you would need as an admin. I figure more pressing for stuff for mods since there are a ton more mods than admins, but definitely would be nice to have specifics for admins as well.
Yes, I think something where we can see user history of mod actions would be nice. Maybe after a certain number of actions it could hightlight them in some way so we can keep an eye out. I dunno, maybe that’s too “big brother” though.
I think also if we’re talking ideal world, there would be a “mod center” tab or something that has the log, reports, and tools for all the communities you mod, as well as maybe tabs within the center for each community specifically. With lists of all the other mods, and maybe communication tools too. Could be a lot, but just throwing ideas out there.
+1, I don’t have a lot of posts I need to schedule, but I do weekly threads and it would be nice to get them set up in advance if I know I’ve got something going on at the normal time.
Definitely, until or if we ever get a way to federate communitied together, it would be nice to see at a glance when you run across one you’re not subbed to and quickly sub to it.
Oh this would also be great. I think both options would be nice so you could browse non subbed when you are looking for what you’re missing specifically but also have the indicator so you can still browse and if something catches your interest, you can sub.
When browsing “local” or “all”, it would be nice to have some kind of indicator next to the community name to let you know if you’ve already subscribed or not. I browse “all” sometimes looking for new communities to sub to and I click through to find out I’m already subbed often.
I think something as simple as being able to set a different color for subbed communities would work well and be enough to stand out at a glance.
I have a fold 4 which I love. Was thinking about switching to the flip so I went to check one out. All the reasons you listed where the things drawing me to it until I remembered I wear a smart watch and do all that already without taking my phone out. Then it became useless to me. The only benefit would be the small form factor when in my pocket but like I said, I have a fold, big phone in my pocket doesn’t really bother me. And the biggest thing in would miss is being able to set my phone down half folded and watch videos on the vertical half. A feature I didn’t think I would use but I do all the time.
L15 also, wtf is going on there
I agree there’s no flaw in the approach but like anything most people won’t learn. People can’t be bothered by and large.
Adblocker do great job at filtering out the majority of ads.
Oh believe me, I’ve been running UBlock Origin for a long time. When I use a computer without it, I’m just amazed at the amount of ads nowadays
I’d argue that there are better contenders, but this is a discussion for entirely different community. 😜
Oh of course, little bit of hyperbole in my statement, but I definitely believe the internet has been a gift and a curse for society.
Yeah, I was born in the early 80s and grew up watching the internet grow, so I know how to navigate for the best experience for me. But I don’t think it can be denied that the vast majority of people don’t and fall right into the toxicity most of the time. And the effect it’s had on sociaty is hard to ignore.
I think this is true to an extent. The internet is still filled with magical things, but no one can deny that a huge portion is just ad-filled garbage at this point. Most everything “mainstream” is designed to manipulate us and suck us dry. I still say the internet is both the greatest and worst invention of all time.
Yes, I mean, some people don’t have the time or skill to play on harder difficulties and they just play on the easiest mode to experience the story. Did you truly beat the game if you do that? I’m all about play however you want. I sometimes replay games on easy just because I want to relive the story.
For sure. I find sandbox games to be the ones I feel like 100%ing, but most story based ones, I just want to experience the story.
Don’t really have a conclusion to this, just think it’s interesting.
Definitely, I just find it interesting that we still use that term, even if it doesn’t necessarily apply.
I’m with you. I feel like it has the same meaning. Really I was just curious others thoughts on the term. I completely understand why we say it still. It just feels weird to me. When I finished GOW or TLOU, I don’t feel like I “beat” it, I feel like I completed an epic story. I don’t really feel like I need to apply different terms. It’s just something that stands out to me when I hear it and I can’t help but think about it.
Yes, this exactly. I feel like we just say beat because we’ve been saying it for so long, but with games like GOW, The Last of Us, Horizon, those are just finishing the story. But I do understand completely why we still say beat. And yes, there are tons of games that are made for beating. That’s why I tried to limit it to more story epics and such.
Yeah, I guess that’s where my head is at. It doesn’t really bother or offend me in any way. I just can’t help but notice when someone says they beat the game. But that makes sense if you 100% everything. Completing the story feels like just that, you finished a story.
I use it all the time. Only issue I have is it sometimes keeps my phone screen on.
