i know how the devs cook. i’ve been following this game since closed beta. tons of passion but many actions can really only be taking as loathing their playerbase.

you mean the game they promised they would continue to support and then failed immediately on that front? this company could barely handle developing one game. lots of passion but poor planning.

yeah i put ~80 hours into before they started pumping out paid dlc for their early access game and haven’t touched it since. and any remote desire to maybe get more out of money spent was immediately soured by that size.

yep, definitely ark with a pokemon paint job more than any game pokemon has put out. that paint job has still gotten a lot more people to play the game than a lot of other survival games.

exactly. but you can’t just keep farming UB forever. you need to onboard them into the ecosystem and keep them hooked in. time will tell if these people only cared about their specific media or if enough latch on to mtg the game.

so i sold out of mtg around covid and they started committing to “universe beyond”. but all signs point to their stupid shit being profitable for the time being. and the new UB stuff will now be going through standard will help their new player onboarding a bit.

they’ve unbanned cards in the past. most recently(not in this ban/unbanning) mox opal and splinter twin in modern. SFM and mind sculptor were also unbanned years ago. unbanning cards is not unheard of.

unbannings are just admitting that power creep has surpassed the level those cards were at previously.

terraria added years ago the whole npc favored locations/friendship stuff that enables you to unlock the crystals for fast travel. and being able to get across the map that quickly is just too valuable to me.
