Yet another thing that capitalism is destroying.
Not advocating for Google here, but you can do that with “site: wikipedia.org” as a search operator in Google.
"Big dat"a has become a buzz word, but it’s a very real, potent and also frightening thing.
Developers remain critical of this latest statement from Unity. “There wasn’t any ‘confusion’,” said Trent Kusters of Jumplight Odyssey studio League of Geeks. “In fact, the exact opposite is the concerning issue here; That we all, very clearly, understood the devastating impact and anti-developer sentiment of your new pricing model far better than you ever did (or cared to) before rolling it out.”
That’s the exact point. The apology is a joke.
20 mph are 32 kph. This is pretty much the same, isn’t it? I think you might have misread my comment somehow.
This is becoming more and more the default speed limit in German cities (30 kmh actually, which is more or less the same).
Techno feudalism is the keyword.
If your normal account doesn’t havr admin rights my shortcut will still lead to the UAC where you can enter your admin account credentials.
that lets me launch stuff as admin without a mouse
Ctrl + Shift + Enter does that, too. I discovered this just recently and I’m using it every day since. Alt + Enter opens the properties of a file, which is also quite nice.
Keeps your PC from sleeping.
You can set this in the power plan settings, no need for an extra application.
I always install TouchMe Gesture Studio for touch gestures and Touch Mouse Pointer for an optional virtual track pad on my touch devices.
Exactly what I expected to happen with the rise of AI. I would laugh, but the completely senseless CO2 that this shit is causing is just sad.
What happened to reddit will probably happen on a much larger scale to the entire internet. First the enshittification destroys everything and then a new thing will emerge that much more resembles the old internet. Google’s Web Environment Integrity could be the last nail in the coffin and speed up the change significantly.
The latency is unbearable when playing on a midi keyboard. Gaming is not the only thing out there.
My Bluetooth headphones have a 3.5mm jack that will bypass the BT function. Love it!
It still perfectly and visibly demonstrates the big point of criticism in AI: The tendencies the the training material inhibits.
It’s “let’s believe that google and apple wouldn’t let this data be misused."
This is only valid for your specific voice commands. They’re of course transmitted to and processed on their servers. That’s something they could misuse, yes, but that’s not what the article is about. The article is about whether your phone always listens to you, and there’s no proof of it. People are repeating this claim all the time, but no one has come up with a proof. If you think about it also doesn’t make any sense at all. This would cause so much data usage, people would have definitely noticed that at some point. The storage and processing requirements on Googles / Amazons part would also be ridiculous. But no matter how you look at it, it’s up to someone who makes a claim to prove that it’s true, that called the burden of proof and no one has managed to come up with a proof so far.
When money is tight you might use your phone for a year or two longer. 1000 Euro phones also don’t help the matter.
It is essentially a no. Read the article.
According to your comment the solution seems to be keeping the status quo where a single company has that much power. This mega corporation power shit needs to stop, no matter what. The naming is the least issue. We’re heading towards a dystopian cyberpunk future and no one seems to give a fuck.
