Man there’s literally only one thing stopping me from using mastodon and that’s likes.

I know marketing, and shit, and likes sometimes skew things, but without likes any toot is given the same weight, no matter if it’s a good or bad toot. There’s no way for me to see through the chaos that emerges from this.

I know there are reasons not to do this, but I damn well know I’m not the only one, and I’m sure it would make it more appealing for a lot of ppl unfamiliar with mastodon. You could even make it optional so ppl can turn it off and there would be no harm done.

It’s even funnier than that. Appearently, for drones they made drone pilots design their optimal input device, and the result was basically a replica of a commonly used Xbox controller. The legal department was dumbfounded because there’s obviously protections for an Xbox controller and they just resorted back to the original.

It is. GDPR in the EU dictates that every user which requests their information has to get it in 30 days, and every user who removes their information has to be able to get it removed (I think the time span for that is even shorter, so more pressure for the server admins)

I totally agree.

While there is an argument that eating meat is bad, we are talking about literally torturing animals without any purpose other than entertainment. This is a different level of awful.

Yeah ppl already predicted it’s probably gonna be a battle of who can place the most shorts in the least amount of time on Reddit stock when they go IPO. There’s no reason to go through with it any longer, it will only hurt his company more.
