I’ve been told that before and I guess it makes sense, but maybe after the offices have been abandoned for over a year they could turn off the lights and lower heat -a/c on those floors during the day so the grid would have more capacity for residential.
Yea, I used to clean the windows in office buildings and we’d go into a completely empty floor and all the lights would be on and the heat or A/C would be blasting. Then I’d be downtown at 4am shoveling snow and I’d look up and all the inside lights in those empty office buildings were still on.
Then we’d get a notice to help conserve energy at home.

At my last company they got rid of the CEO because of some thing she was doing. They have a big meeting to tell us and introduce the guy that’s replacing her… The guy who got hired a year ago, spent who knows how much on some “fleet management” software. Software that we never used because we all objected to installing the app on our personal phones that wanted to track our location and have all sorts of other crazy permissions. Dude just failed up to CEO

Interesting, Im starting to think it might just be the hardware. It was sitting unused for a year or two. I’m gonna see if I can find a windows PC to plug it into just to see if it is indeed the hardware. I already tried it on every port and on my other PC running bazzite but had the same thing happen.

I tried every USB port, they all detect when the dongle is plugged in but solaar just displays a blank window. I even tried it on my other Linux PC and it had the exact same thing happen . I also had a second dongle so I plugged it in to time rule that the dongle was broken.
I honestly don’t know much about terminal, how could I go about doing that? I’m pretty sure this is exactly my problem. I had stumbled on this Reddit thread when looking for a solution. But someone here pointed out that the link lsd_ninja provided was for MAC so I thought I must’ve been on the wrong track. I know I have to copy the file from the GitHub. I just don’t know how to get to the location where it goes.
Yes I did, even tried a different PC which is why I think It might be the hardware. I might see if my buddy from work can plug it into his windows PC to see if it works. That way I can definitely know if it’s a hardware issue.
Not even the unifying receiver seems to show up in solaar. When I plug it in I get a notification saying Logitech unifying receiver has been plugged in on my task bar. I Fucking hate turbo tax. They’ve gotten so intertwined in our tax system from all their lobbying. I couldn’t find my w2 for an employer I quit in July, after some research I found out my former employer just automatically gives turbotax all their w2s. I didn’t even want to do my taxes with them because I know about their bullshit but had to log in so I could get my w2 from turbo tax to take it somewhere else. I bet they get a lot of people that are just like “my w2 is here I’ll just do it with them”.
