What’s AMP and why is it undesirable?
Cool write up!
I recommend you play TRAIL OUT, which is a spiritual successor to the best FLATOUT games. I like it a lot and would love to hear your thoughts!
As others have said, this is not the behavior that is indicative of healthy adult friendships.
You’re feelings are real, valid, and a way that your body is trying to inform you you don’t feel safe.
You’re not a loser. Living as an Autistic in an NT world is fucking rough. I would appreciate if you didn’t kill yourself.
capped the level of closeness they have with me to protect me
Did you ask for this? Your preferences are not theirs to decide if not.
My recommendation is trying to find and join communities that are more accepting. I have found ND and LGBTQ+ (even though I’m just a straight white guy) circles to be generally very accepting as they have had people be jerks to them and they are willing to accept and appreciate people for who they are.
Yeah basically a kneecaped PC with horrible data policy. Example, if you have a game with a 3rd party save/account like a lot of games do, Sony owns it and you can not migrate it to other platforms. I bought my nephew a gaming PC and he lost about 2000hrs of progress in Apex because Sony owns his account.
I’m not even a snob against consoles, just Sony sucks balls these days. I’d go with an Xbox but by then you’re basically buying a PC… Although you can prob get a cheaper price on an Xbox especially if you’re not building your own machine.
Oh right on, I didn’t realize rsync was just a differential copy–thays dope! I hope I didn’t come off paranoid lol… I work in a PC repair shop (mostly Windows machines) and I am not used to the average consumer giving a cleaver answer about backups and drive maintenance.
Congratulations again on the new machine. Hope it treats you well!
So about that. I don’t use rsync, but any regular bulk reads/writes will wear an SSD quickly!
What I meant was, if your drive(a) isn’t new with the new build, I would recommend it. I’ve been seeing failure rates on SSDs with hard use (like weekly backups) at only the 3-5 year mark. And usually when they die its all at once.
He also likes routine, having a firm sense of right and wrong, will eat the same thing every day forever, and had to be specifically trained to make eye contact!
Edit from future me: This got long quick, but I assure you this is info that could be valuable to you!
Hey OP, good work trying to learn more about yourself and sharing it amongst others instead of creating your own echo chamber.
I’m in my 30s and autistic. I had a very similar experience to you in HS especially, and the military after that.
My nephew lives with me because I’m the only one in the family that “gets him”–most of the others in the family think he’s a narcissist. He’s not, and I don’t think you are either. When this came up in the family, I did what autistic people do and deep-dove this. Here’s my thoughts in no particular order:
as a rule of thumb, if you’re considering if you’re a narcissist, you’re likely not. Narcissists will often know they’re being shitty to people, but either won’t care or will barely care, and squash it down.
there are a couple “levels” of narcissism: having narcissistic traits is something common in most if not all people. They may not have all of them, and the motivation will be way different, but most people have at least a couple. The more severe/clinical level of narcissism is called Narcissistic Personality Disorder and it is extremely dangerous. NPD people are often violent when receiving criticism and/or when they lose control.
Side note: you cannot even be diagnosed NPD until you are 18, and NPD is like a fork in the road: the longer you stay on the narcissist path, the more severe you get.
Narcissism is a learned behavior and is treatable, if you choose. If you can get professional help that is of course best but there are self-guided resources to help learn healthier habits if professional help is not possible.
I’m not sure how far you got in your studies, but there are 9 signs of a narcissist, and you described maybe 1.5 of them. I’m not sure if you didn’t come across the others but here’s a quality article about them: https://www.dukehealth.org/blog/9-signs-of-narcissistic-personality-disorder
Good on you for making it this far if you did. If you need anything about this, feel free to reach out. I am not a professional but psychology is my special interest and I can provide sources from actually qualified people for everything I say. I wish you luck in your endeavors!
I’m not trans but I have a good few friends who are, in various stages of transition. They all describe it the same way: “oh you’ll know if you’re dysphoric”.
Many trans people are autistic, and some of the symptoms can look similar at the surface level, but they are separate and totally possible to be comorbid.
The dog is also autistic
This is your answer, OP.
As a backup you can have a VM with Windows and the full apps if you need them (like Access for instance).
I like your build a lot. Don’t forget to move your OS to another drive via clone or something occasionally… Your old drive will wear out eventually. If it’s SSD, they often just work until they just don’t, so it’s not like the old days when an HDD would just slow down and give you a warning.
Cheers!
What are your needs? I work in a PC shop and answer this question everyday lol
I don’t think that’s totally accurate. I think it’s more that they don’t know how a mask works, and they think that you’re deliberately being fake to fit in.
If masking wasn’t a thing, it would probably be decent advice. Problem is 99% of us have no idea we’re masking until way later, if ever.
Could be. I do have some significant Thinkpad experience (going back to the IBM days) and I do know that they will not alter the model number regardless of what’s in the machine, but you can pull a build sheet from their website with the serial number. Do you know if your HPs could have had this happen? Was your distributor HP or elsewhere? (Not hating, just curious!)
Capacity loss over time is a decent idea. The 2nd Gen machine has an 11th Gen chip, vs 10th Gen in the Gen 1, and quiet possibly is able to burn more power quicker as well. Thinkpad power consumption is also definable in the BIOS or Vantage software for many of them, so those settings all could vary.
Normally I’d be happy to help troubleshoot this sort of thing but frankly I’m not sure OP was looking to chat.
You should contact Lenovo and let them know their spec sheets are wrong. Because they say exactly what I just said.
Not my problem if you have aftermarket modifications to them.
I have a T580 and a T15g2 and the T580 is 100% a more rugged build–not even close.
The T15 is way lighter, so maybe that feels like stiffness?
G1s do not just “have brighter screens” than Gen 2. Those are spec-able options.
G1 had three screens, 250nit, 300nit, 500nit (4k only)
G2 had three screens, 300nit, 300nit, 600nit (4k only)
Both have the same 57wh battery. Not sure what you’re talking about there.
It explicitly said you do not need a PSN account to play, in a number of places. Both on the game page, on the Sony FAQ page, and the Steam page too I believe.
It was bait and switch, which is why so many people are upset.
I had the same laugh. So tone-deaf.
Oh, good to know. I appreciate the info!
