They’re actually about the same heat wise. I use some relative cheap NICs based on the Intel 82599 controller and 10G SFP+ modules.

I just bought a fridge after my 15 year old one shit out. Let me tell you, trying to find a decently sized, dumb fridge with an ice and water dispenser is like finding the holy grail.

Samsung has evidently partnered with some timelords to get over 30 cu ft of fridge space in a 70"tall frame - including their door sized tablet.

Bosch has the next biggest but locks stuff behind an smart app. Hell, even LG has smart features to help you with your ice maker that will probably either be DOA or will break in a year.

I finally found a Whirlpool that isn’t smart and has a decent sized fridge, but it was a struggle.

Yep, that can be normal. For my city, the local group has a private (but free to join) channel that’s a bit more active.

Do a web search for meshtastic and your city and see if one pops up.

It is cool! The barrier to entry is relatively low. The only thing to really worry about is:

1. What band/frequency is appropriate for you country.
2. Are there others around to which you can connect?

If there’s not a lot of people around it’s not the end of the world. Nodes can connect over the Internet via MQTT servers. Yes, this defeats the purpose of having an offline/decentralized communication platform, but it is a good stop gap until more nodes are put up.

I’ve been playing Gravity Rush from the PS Vita. I went in blind and have been enjoying it so far. I can’t get motion controls to work, but that hasn’t stopped me yet.

I wish Expedition 33 was more than 10% off. I get why, but still.

My wishlist has some sub $5USD games so I’ll probably drop 20 or so. I really don’t need the extras though. According to SteamDB, I’ve only played about 41% of my 714 games - and that doesn’t include all the GOG and free Epic/Amazon games I’ve snagged over the years.

Cast to Chill is a pretty great fishing game for the steam deck. I’ve been enjoying it since the NextFest demo.

I would get multiple drives and do RAID. Here’s a helpful calculator to figure out drive quantity, size, and configuration. The reason to do RAID is redundancy. Hard drives will fail (even NAS branded drives). You do not want your photos, media, etc to be lost in that case. I personally do not go with anything below RAID5 (and for super sensitive things, I’ll even go RAID6 - despite the hit on overall capacity. If the optiplex has drive capacity for multiple drives, I strongly recommend you go this route.
