How would you drive the adoption of such a protocol in an environment that is largely hostile towards attempts at demonetising things?

That’s the thing. Apple has that track record already. This years iOS update will be available for phones released as far back as 2017. And that’s not a recent development - 4+ years have been the norm with iOS devices for a long time, while many Android phones have suffered from much faster obsolescence.

Google have yet to prove that they can fulfill this promise.

I’ll touch base with you in 7 years to see how that’s going.

Battlefield 2142 was ambitious. It included one of the most fun Battlefield game modes I’ve played (Titan), and in my opinion the main reason it bombed somewhat was that it came out way too quickly after Battlefield 2, which was still ragingly popular with PC gamers, and the player base didn’t have much appetite for changing over to a new game.

EA made games before pay to win loot boxes became a thing.

I used to like small phones. I thought the form factor of my erstwhile iPhone 5 was perfect.

But then I got older, and my eyesight got worse. Reading small fonts on small screens is becoming increasingly difficult, but I’m not yet at the point where I have to wear glasses or contacts all the time. I also don’t like just increasing font sizes, as I lose screen realestate. So I’m kinda starting to see why some people like phones with bigger screens.

No it doesn’t. Gitlab’s pricing has been pretty stable, with one increase in the premium tier in the past six years ($19 --> $29 per user per month).

Uh, no. It entirely depends on the station. My wife has radio stations in her car that sound almost 100% prerecorded and edited together - I can never tell if someone is actually talking now or if it’s just a snippet from a previous recording. However, if I listen to a very specific radio station from my home country, which I can only get via internet stream, it still feels like listening to the radio. The way of listening has nothing to do with it, it’s all in the station’s programming.

Maybe not the most unfun game I have ever played (I’ve played games since the late 90s), but certainly the most unfun I have played in recent years: Elex.

I liked Piranha Bytes’ old Gothic series a lot despite its weaknesses and idiosyncrasies. The Risen games weren’t that great, but the reviews for Elex were pretty promising. So I gave it a shot, and tried for about 16 hours to find the fun in it. I stopped playing when I realised:

• I couldn’t hold my own in almost any battle because I didn’t have good enough gear
• In order to get better gear, I had to join one of the game’s factions
• In order to join one of the factions, I had to perform a number of tasks for them
• The factions were all just dickheads, and I didn’t want to do anything for them, much less their dirty work

So yeah, no fun to be had with this one.
