Except SpaceX stuff, of which he’s more like this random guy that has “ownership” but seems to have no involvement beyond that, so its success is in the autocracy of his absence.
“You leave us alone, we’ll make sure you look good. Deal?”

I haven’t done web work for well over a decade and recently was surprised to learn that Wordpress is still very relevant. I remember back then, seeking alternatives as we expected it to become more of a legacy thing a few years down the track, so we were on the lookout for future-proofing client sites with a better foundation. At that point it was a decade old and annoying af because it morphed into a messy way of doing websites because people misused it’s original purpose. Brain had to think like a blog and then trick it into doing what you want, kind of like using tables to structure pages before CSS-P saved the day.
It’s like Alphabet hate guaranteed money.
“How can we boost the next six months of investment for sake of stable income over the next decade?”
“More ads. Studies show everyone with internet access fucking loves them.”
*Brilliant! Welcome to entry level lower senior-ish management, Jenkins."
“YESSSSS! I can’t wait to tell the family about this when I’m on leave from this wonderfully accommodating work campus. All hail, G.”
“All hail, G.”
“Don’t forget to like and subscribe and hype and hit that bell and leave a comment down below–inhale—it really helps this channel out.”
Internet? You mean the WiFi /s
All the while it gets further and further from the requirements. So you open five more conversations, give them the same prompt, and try pick which one is least wrong.
All the while realising you did this to save time but at this point coding from scratch would have been faster.
SmartTube is so good. You get it for no ads; you keep it for all the dope features. It’s like YT way back in the day with more advanced shit for anyone that loves tinkering with all the fiddly bits.
Confidence. Normal people are attracted to people that are just confident in being who they are. The rest doesn’t matter, and if it does, you dodged a bullet.
For the US, I think it would be so slow at catching up to more developed standards of gun control that it would be generational and not a matter of years. It’s not so much the laws that are currently in place that’s the issue, it’s the lack of regulation that’s created such an ingrained culture that’s going to take a long time to evolve. So, technology like this would stil definitely be utilised in the future.
My thoughts, anyway.
And honestly, I didn’t even realise there was another school shooting in the US. Internationally, I guess it just gets covered less and less because it’s not really “news” anymore.
I always figure it’s someone whose life has become so pathetic, they bitterly downvote every single comment to try feel some control. And as a result, they feel like the Phantom of the Socials. Alone, but the true master of the place.
“Everyone must wonder, ‘Who keeps downvoting us?’ It is I! The true Master of Lemmy and- No, mother!.. Yes, mother!.. I tried but nobody wants to talk to me!.. I don’t want to!.. Yeah, she’s cute!.. I don’t want you to do that!.. Mother put the phone down!”
Jokes on them, I think lowly of people with exercise bikes. I’m on a level of pretentious they can’t reach.
And with Trump’s stellar success rate with new ventures and all.
I don’t like the lack of customisability. I’ve been using Vivaldi for a long time now and nothing comes close to how customisable and feature-packed it is. Everything can be set up and tweaked exactly how I want. My version of Vivaldi would look, feel, and act entirely different to someone else’s, because it does what I want, not the other way around.
Unfortunately, it’s Chromium-based. But the developers have been working on its native ad blocker in case extensions are impacted. They’re quite a brilliant bunch, so I’m hoping it all goes smooth. I really don’t want to have to go back to Firefox if I can help it. I can’t stand UX for the masses and these guys get it.
Ah, so the bad kind of teasing.
Yeah, I have a smart TV and would appreciate some faster processing in there. Or if I can flash a simplified ROM, but dunno if those exist. As long as I get control over what it does, I’d take it. Can just Velcro it on the back of the TV so it’s invisible.
It’s also anything but the most efficient route for doing so. Like Abe Simpson toured the building before returning back to the hat stand and it the door.
Get the Corsair Vengeance 2× 8GB 3600 kit everyone gets, set the BIOS XMP to Auto so it uses top speeds, and done. More than enough for upper tier gaming.
Spend the rest on a new CPU.
But then Apple would have to drop it’s prices by 40% so people would keep buying.
That means I’ll have to try remember where the Phone app is, then find someone that would actually want to use it as well.
“Nintendo targets free marketing that’s much more effective than their really, really weird ads featuring skinwalkers from an alternate reality attempting to appear like normal humans doing the gaming.”
