last time I checked, IMAP/SMTP required not only a paid account, but running Protonmail’s proprietary bridge app

The entire concept of “quantum” is that it’s the smallest possible unit.
A “quantum leap” is the smallest measurable change in electrical charge.
The Planck length, based (it’s a long story, links below) on that smallest possible charge, is around 1.61×10−35 m. (That’s 0.00…00161, with about 31 more zeroes). Which is about as much societal/technical progress as I think Apple has made.

but not everyone’s “inhospitable for over half the year” is the same, I know more than one person whose local community has been basically destroyed by second home owners, there were plenty of people wanting to live in those places full-time but they were priced out.
somewhat with you except for the “2” - if you agree that taking homes out of the housing pool to run mostly-unregulated hotels is bad, why allow even one per person?
it requires a paid subscription now, it’s not outrageously priced but it feels like it kind of goes against the ethos, and a lot of people have moved to alternatives like bewelcome

the abject state of the USA car industry - that a “mini” is smaller than the even-bigger, also ridiculously over-sized cars on the road - does not change physics. or justify why you feel the need to choose between the terrible options that are the latest models offered by homicidal car manufacturers
the last compact minis were made decades ago and you can buy them without giving BMW a cent. “mini” is just marketing for giant tanks now
it’s the only place I know where it’s common to have your whole battery pack swapped out, much quicker than recharging a battery, and leaves the difficult job of battery maintenance up to professionals

my sibling in christ, the only reason for the use of “master race” is its Nazi history, that’s the only cultural reference it is making.
and yes, i am someone that the Nazis would have tried to exterminate. are you? otherwise, consider the idea that it is not your place to be arguing in favor of jokes about Nazi ideology.
PS yes I know mitchell and webb, they’re not amazing, “are we the baddies” is definitely a lot better satire than “pc master race” tho.

I wasn’t making a generalisation about the identity of leftists, I was saying that “[PC enthusiasts using the term ‘master race’ to refer to themselves represents] no glorifying of Nazism” is not a leftwing position. this distinction is possible because “left wing” has definitions beyond just “what people who call themselves ‘leftwing’ think”, like promoting social equality, and fighting entrenched hierarchies.
having some leftwing views (and taking leftwing actions, which, nice, thank you for your service, I’ve done a lot more than shout at someone, get teargassed, or go to a pride march, not saying you don’t get an opinion though…) doesn’t automatically make your support for using the term “master race” less rightwing.
anyway, “I’m as left as I fucking want to be” is a lot less ridiculous a thing to say than “I’m as left as they come”.

If your “fun” is causing marginalised people to feel bad then you’re punching down, and you need a better sense of humour.
if you think that a videogame with a gay character is “promotion of homosexuality” and “grooming”, but you don’t think the same about a videogame with a hetero character, then I would ask you why, and why you think that isn’t textbook homophobia.
