    I remember when the Nexus was the open reference device that you could play with. The Pixel is now as closed as an iPhone. Thanks Google!

      The sentiment is valid, but being as closed as an iPhone is quite an exaggeration. You can’t even use a different keyboard on an iPhone let alone a different launcher or lock screen lol

        You can definitely use a third party keyboard on iphone. They only force you to use their keyboard when entering passwords, which I can undestand their argument for.

        The day they stop sideloading is the day I’d just carry a pocket-sized computer and use a cheap budget phone as a hotspot.

      They didn’t say anything about not removing pixels from the tree, which is what people are complaining about. So yeah, they pretty much did.
