Funny thing is, I don’t own a printer, so when I need documents printed I go to the local library. Their computers run Linux, and of all the times I’ve gone to get a print done it’s been an extremely flawless experience. No fuss, no hassle, just load up the document and print it.

My gaming desktop has a 5950x, I can run virtual machines and all games just fine. No reason to upgrade.

My Plex server runs an Intel 10400, handles everything I throw at it just fine. No reason to upgrade.

My home theater PC runs a Ryzen 1700 and again, runs just fine. No reason to upgrade.

I think the newest CPU in my house is either my Steam Deck’s APU or the one in my PS5.

I’ve got several flash drives from 2 different brands that are less than 3 years old that are already dying. SanDisk and Lexar, both large brands and they’re already losing reliability. Real shame that the older stuff works longer. I really only need them for making Linux bootable drives and they struggle with that.

Not entirely true in my case, I’ve got an old Inspiron 530 that I have been trying to figure out what to do with. Well it ran Vista from the factory so that’s worthless now, so I figured I’d try putting Linux on it. Every single distro I tried installing just wouldn’t get past the splash screen. Mint, Ubuntu, Arch (GUI and manual installer), Pop_OS, ChimeraOS, nothing. Trying different USB media writing methods did nothing or made it not even show as a bootable device. Finally got Xunbuntu to work on it and even that took 3 attempts to install.

I’ve got a more recent HP that was originally Win 7 that did have a much higher success rate and an old Acer laptop that straight up will not boot Linux without a high amount of errors or just completely borked graphics even with multiple distros.

But I’m also an idiot so it’s probably me.

I’d love to get my hands on even a decent condition 1st gen iPod, but people want insane amounts for them now. Even my 5.5 gen was more than i wanted to pay but nearly mint.

I’ve got a 13" M1 MBP about 2 years ago and I wanted to test it’s power after I set it up. I loaded up Final Cut Pro, got to work editing a 15ish minute 1440p video with a lot of elements to it. The render time was about 3 minutes, which is on par or faster than my 5950x/3090 K|ngp|n desktop, and the fans didn’t even turn on. It’s not over hype. M2, sure I can agree since it was marginal uplift over M1. I’m not even an Apple fanboy, but that M1 chip is damn good for an off the shelf workstation.

I’ve run into a similar issue, I built a media PC for my living room which includes a 4K compatible Blu-ray drive. After spending an hour trying to flash it’s BIOS in Linux, realizing Windows would take 2 minutes to do the same task, then finally testing a disk, I find that DRM ruins that. All my 4K disks will not play because it’s a crapshoot if they do play. It will rip them no problem, but not play.

I could fix this by using Windows, however I don’t want windows on this system, it works quickly and with no annoyances in Linux.

So now I have to resort back to the PS5 as my player until I figure something out.

I recommend running GPU-Z to verify the 2060S is actually a 2060S, it’s well known that there’s fakes sold on that site as well as many others.

Personally can’t justify many series in 4k, some of the ones I have only ever got SD releases (DVD at best) but there are a few I can justify 4K for. Mainly very cinematic shows such as The Mandelorian or The Last of Us. As long as they have subtitles in the other shows and are available in their best original release resolution it’s fine for me.

For example if the original Doctor Who series had a 4K release for it’s entirety it would probably be my entire server lol. 693 episodes in 480p is almost 300GB.

I’ve got an '08 iMac with this version of MacOS, El Capitan I believe. Going from that to my 2019 M1 MBP running Sonoma is really no different. Sure there’s features missing but I can still sync my notes and the few other Apple things I actually use between the two.

Plus my iPods can still sync with both devices, they just moved iPod into Finder in the new versions.

We hate delivering them just as much as you hate getting them. Your best bet is to call the companies sending them and have them remove your address from their mailing list.

You could also go to the full extreme of just removing your mailbox and getting nothing, but sadly that also includes any packages sent through the USPS. They’ll get returned as No Mail Receptacle.
