Hey! I’m new and played a couple of characters (dynamo, doorman, celeste, …) and feel like I have decent impact ingame with them - good enough for a beginner.
I tried vyper and because I really like the kit I’m trying to main her, but the games feel incredibly hard now. The games where I’m fed, I have a hard time to carry (especially late-game) and I’m not sure if she is more of an adc or assassin (I’m playing more defensive like an adc). The last 9 games I felt like we didn’t win because of me, so I just want some oppinions on:
What are her strenghts?
What Items are good for her?

Vyper isn’t that great in the current meta unless you’re very good at aiming. She’s kind of in between an assassin and a carry, and is great at chasing enemies. That said, she’s not as good at assassinating as Haze and can’t solo carry games like some other heroes. That said she moves around the map quickly and can eat up a lot of camps, so you should always be farming when moving between lanes.
Vyper is a beast in the mid-game but yeah, she isn’t the strongest in the late game. Keep that in mind.
What items are good for her?
Take one of the top 5 builds for her and you’ll be fine. Spoilers: Lots of gun and firerate items.
I’m not a Vyper player, so I can’t offer much advice. She is one of the stronger laners so you should always try to play aggressively at the start.
I recommend watching some good Vyper players for a bit of motivation and to passively learn. Zerggy is usually the carry player for Buff Enjoyers, one of the top pro teams, and has played Vyper as a gun carry in the past. Check out his VODs for an idea of what it can look like.
