At work we pay Microsoft thousands for developer licensees, have windows pro, and there is still ads in the OS… Windows exists to service them not us.

Gamemaker is still focused on 2D. I also think its easier for people without programming experience and the design guides you more but is less flexible.

Godot is probably the best choice for open source game engines. Its got funding and full time developers working on it.
Stride3D is probably the closest open source clone of Unity. It was developed by Silicon Studio as a commercial game engine but they eventually stopped and open sourced it. Its got a ton of modern features including vulkan and direct x 12 support. It has an active community too, but no full time staff making new features.
Depends on how much effort you want to put into it. Nextcloud is the closest in terms of features but you’ll need to set it up.
I have a ProtonDrive account and I like it but it doesn’t have auto upload of photos. You need to manually upload them. I’m personally fine with this since 90% of my photos are receipts and junk.
I can’t imagine depending on Google to store anything. They shouldn’t be able to even see what links you save.

I found several AI sites that seem to block Firefox. Google search labs, the new Bing search. There was also some code collaboration site (duck something) recently. Nothing too too bad but I am finding them more and more.
I would use firefox but more and more websites require a specific browser technology or even a specific browser.
